Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media

I too have noticed a little hypocrisy on the media's part. After years of being the Offseason Champs, this season we made a lot of smart, sensible, financially wise moves to rebuild the core of the football team. We didn't go for flash, we went from hard workers who were going to come in a work their asses off to netter the football team.

But all I hear anyone talking about is 1.) how John Beck might be our quarterback (and I've already expressed how I feel about the media blasting a guy for wanting a job), and 2.) how we resigned Santana Moss, signed Stallworth and traded for Gaffney.

There's no mention of how many other guys we signed under age thirty. Despite all reports that Trent has like much improved in camp and is in shape, all I hear is about how much of a question mark he is and how bad he was and how we made no moves to improve our offensive line (wrong), and how we didn't find enough weapons (wrong) and we're still adding 4-3 personnel to our 3-4 defense (wrong) and how we haven't done enough to improve, and why didn't we go out and spend money to get better guys.

Spend money, get criticized. Don't spend money, get criticized. Might as well get used to it.

Actually, it's more like "Be a mediocre team that has a history of bad personnel decisions and get criticized until you start winning."

I can't emphasize this enough.

We have been dreadful for a decade (more actually) so we deserve this bad press. I find it funny that many Skins fans are in such denial that we laugh at the Lions, Raiders, and Bengals, but have had one of the worst records over the past years that pretty much puts us in line with them. We are going to continue to get bad press until this organization starts winning. That said, everything I've seen over this past Draft/FA off-season has been nothing but positive. I think some of you guys are looking for the bad press or not liking it because they aren't riding our nuts like they do the Patriots.

Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media

I don't think it is hate. Or Hatte.
When you suck as long as we have (1992) and your owner (Danny) used to love seeing himself on TV as much as he used to, it is deserved criticism. Not hate.
We Redskins fans are quick to laugh at the perennially awful teams like Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit (no longer bad), St. Louis (also no longer terrible), etc. Guess what....we are part of that list until we can be a consistent playoff team.
You want the shit talk to stop.....start winning.
We have been embarrassingly bad at times in the last three years and when Spurrier was here. Add in all the embarrassing Snyderatto moments and it is safe to say we earned the shit talk.
Winning cures everything.
Plus..who really cares what others have to say about us.
Let's take care of our own business and punch some people in the mouth on the field this coming season.
HTTR!

True words Defensewins, You want the shit talk to stop.....start winning.

We need to look no further for a perfect example than the Green Bay Packers, last years SBW; A team that went through an unbelievable drought between the years of Vince Lombardi and Mike Homlgren. Twenty three years separate the two coaches and the Packers had only three winning seasons during that time span. Now the Packers are the talk of everybody's town.

"Just win baby!!" problem solved.

Basically. I love our fans that get mad when people like Hodge or Jaws don't project the Redskins to go to the Super Bowl.
