Re: Redskins Hatters In The Media

I too have noticed a little hypocrisy on the media's part. After years of being the Offseason Champs, this season we made a lot of smart, sensible, financially wise moves to rebuild the core of the football team. We didn't go for flash, we went from hard workers who were going to come in a work their asses off to netter the football team.

But all I hear anyone talking about is 1.) how John Beck might be our quarterback (and I've already expressed how I feel about the media blasting a guy for wanting a job), and 2.) how we resigned Santana Moss, signed Stallworth and traded for Gaffney.

There's no mention of how many other guys we signed under age thirty. Despite all reports that Trent has like much improved in camp and is in shape, all I hear is about how much of a question mark he is and how bad he was and how we made no moves to improve our offensive line (wrong), and how we didn't find enough weapons (wrong) and we're still adding 4-3 personnel to our 3-4 defense (wrong) and how we haven't done enough to improve, and why didn't we go out and spend money to get better guys.

Spend money, get criticized. Don't spend money, get criticized. Might as well get used to it.

Actually, it's more like "Be a mediocre team that has a history of bad personnel decisions and get criticized until you start winning."

I can't emphasize this enough.

We have been dreadful for a decade (more actually) so we deserve this bad press. I find it funny that many Skins fans are in such denial that we laugh at the Lions, Raiders, and Bengals, but have had one of the worst records over the past years that pretty much puts us in line with them. We are going to continue to get bad press until this organization starts winning. That said, everything I've seen over this past Draft/FA off-season has been nothing but positive. I think some of you guys are looking for the bad press or not liking it because they aren't riding our nuts like they do the Patriots.
