I think you stick Paul back there for a few..

I'm still mad that you can't get a center and long-snapper in one apparently

Anyone noticed a Steeler scrub WR wearing #8 out there? I was like WTF? Is that a kicker playing as a wideout?

And to make matters worse he was white, oh I'm sorry, Caucasion-American.

Good game Skins.. I was impressed by Grossman and his poise tonight. As it is right now. I have this as my WR's making the cut

Moss
Gaffney
Armstrong
Austin
Banks
Hankerson
Aldrick

Even though Royster got the bulk of carries. Heru looked fast and sharp as well. Catching out of the backfield too.

Hightower looked awesome too.. He could be the next big thing at RB for wash and the NFC

What did Robinson do tonight? I remember him not doing well on punt returns. Don't remember him making any catches. I thought Stallworth looked good out there, though he was playing against 2nd stringers.

Aldrick ran a smooth route in the end zone and drew illegal contact. Don't think that's going to get him through the roster bubble though.

Well, we're not going to keep 7 WRs. It will be 5 or 6. I think Aldrick will likely be PS at best. Hankerson will make the team simply because he was a 3rd round pick, but seriously, when the hell did he suddenly forget how to catch? If he was the exact same player thus far but was drafted in, say, the 6th round, he'd be cut material. Disappointing.

So I thought Royster was behind Helu on the depth chart, yet he played more and ahead of him and looked just as good as Helu.

Aldrick Robinson did awful.

Defense looked great, but Josh Wilson didn't impress me; Bowen and Cofield did though.

Rocky looked ok, Riley looked ok, but Keyaron Fox may have been the most impressive of the 3.

Will Montgomery, even though he was going against Hampton, was getting pushed around like a rag doll every play, in the backfield

As someone else pointed out to me. Theres room on this team for Helu, Royster, and Hightower. Torain ironically could be an afterthought by the end of the year.

Sorry to say though that James Davis is likely gone.

I think right now the coaches have Moss and Armstrong penciled into the final roster with Banks as a return specialist. They want to keep Hank but apparently he's making it hard for them. Gaffney looks like a keeper. After that it might be a toss up between Paul and Stallworth and I think they would rather try and develop Paul (heard somewhere he would be a hot commodity on the waiver wire).

Still it would be a tragedy if Terrance Austin didn't make this team.

Yeah way ahead of you all here on that one. And I'm in full agreement.

Yeah Hankerson tonight showed me exactly what I've been hearing. He can't catch.

crazy to think that when most Miami games I saw him in he caught pretty much everything.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Preseason Pre-Game Thread

Obviously we can't put but so much stock into a preseason game, but none the less that was encouraging given how badly last year and pretty much most of the last decade has gone. Still hoping for around an 8-8 season, but it's nice to see positive changes occuring through a nice combination of youth and seasoned vets.

Hate to scare people, and hopefully this is an isolated incident but I fast forwarded the game and found Monty getting just blown off the ball, Rabach style.

Yeah, well, he's Will Montgomery.

Cutting Rabach and moving Monty inside helps our OL overall. Drafting a RG high and moving Chester inside would help our OL even more next year.

Also found this play which was a great job by Monty

4th and 1. Steelers showing heavy blitz. Monty redirects a heavy bull rush away from Sexy Rexy. With Rabach the defender would have used him (Rabach) to physically sack the QB. With Monty Rex gets a clean pocket assuming Hightower picks up his assignment (which he does).
