i dont see how someone who hates vick for killing dogs means they value a dogs life more than a humans. i hate vick for what he did, id boo and curse him given the chance. i think vick did enough time in jail, the sentence was fair imo, doesnt mean i cant hate the guy for what he did. doesnt mean vick will care one iota for how some skins fan or anyone feels about him. besides, he knowingly gives girls herpes, not cool either.

Pretty much agree with most everything here.

The whole "valuing dogs over humans" argument is just BS. The value is reflected in the punishment. If Vick had done to humans what he had done to dogs, we would not be discussing his $100 Million contract. We would be discussing whether or not he should die.

It won't last the whole season, but the eagles may win some early games because the officials may be giving them the jordanlike calls- because of the whole dream team thing. The game against the browns, they were given two calls from the refs that went their way. An off. pass interference penalty in favor of asomugha that nullified a big pass play. And another on a roughing the qb penalty that nullified vicks interception.

Yes, Vick served his time in jail...he should have because he was a criminal.

He hasn't "turned his life around" because he's employed again...he simply went back to work after getting out of jail. Is Plaxico Burress a "great redemption story of a man who has re-made himself" too? What about Lawrence Phillips? Would he be a hero if he came back? Simply returning to his job is nothing to praise him for. Why don't we put some more attention on those who have stayed on the right side of the law, done good things without a judge telling them too and have been on the field instead of in jail? London Fletcher comes to mind.

London Fletcher is a great guy and should be praised as such. That said Vick and Plax both did more than just get thier jobs back. They were able to reenter society and act as proper citizens, so far at least.

Both are paying taxes and contributing in a positive manner. I can't excuse Vick's cruelty or Plax's stupidity, but both could have had their lives take a much different direction after jail.

i dont think this ends well for the eagles. the contract runs till he's 37, and he's still a small dude in NFL terms, and injury prone. I don't think he'll be nearly as good this year and don't understand why the eagles didn't wait.

37 is no big deal if he can stay healthy and change his style as he ages to more of a pocket passer QB. He had moments last year where he had a deadly balance of perfection passing, as well as knowing when to run. If he runs less and less as he gets older, he will do fine.

If he takes care of himself and avoids injury, he will easily play until he's 37 or older. He has a lot of creditors and he will need the next several years to build up his bank account for when his career finally does run out.

Vick won't be around at 37, once his legs are gone he's done. He's just never going to be a consistently effective pocket passer, not enough to extend his career that long.

He thinks way too highly of himself and that is what resulted in his past trouble. U can't teach an old dog new tricks. I hope the Eagles flop early this year......

Vick will keep saying the right things as long as the spotlight is on him, but I don't think he'll hold up the same face when the spotlight isn't on him anymore. He's got the talent to succeed, but I'm not rooting for him.
