To be sure Kyle has much to do with the QB mess, assuming he's the primary reason we have Rex on the roster at all. But at the end of the day Mike is still the HC. The other frustration with Mike is our lack of preparedness, especially on offense and teams. The delay of game today on the field goal turned punt is a prime example.

In general I don't feel like the offense consistently works together and fights to win. When Helu took a big shot today on that short pass (he couldn't make the catch and got the wind knocked out of him) just one player, a lineman I think, came over to check on him, and that guy didn't even help Helu up. WTF?! This kid is a promising rookie and just got plastered. I think the lack of camaraderie on offense is a symptom of Mike's failure in leadership.

On the defense there's plenty of camaraderie and these guys are definitely fighting to win. Haslett is a great motivator IMHO. His scheme is suspect part of the time, but I will go on record Haslett has exceeded my expectations.

So, I'm disappointed in the Shanahans and pretty damn impressed with Haslett. Very curious to know what ya'll are thinking...so discuss!

PS I think Mike's history as a returning 2X championship HC has to be taken into account when assessing his performance here. I definitely expected him to come in with a solid plan of action and have the offense, especially the QB situation, moving in a better direction by now.

I agree. Mike Shanahan supposedly knows quarterbacks. He's coached the best. Steve Young, John Elway, Jake Plummer, and Jay Cutler. Grossman is only in Washington because he played for Kyle in Houston. Beck is here because Mike Shanahan liked him since his days at BYU. But it's clear as crystal that Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan are going to have to draft a quarterback in April. I would like to see them select Landry Jones. If they can somehow get Andrew Luck, which I doubt they will, then Landry Jones is the next best thing. Jones is certainly more capable than either Grossman or Beck.

The problem is Kyle isn't going to leave. We're stuck with him..

I just hope at some point Mike says, back off let me save our name.

Re: What's your take on our coaching?

We could try to run the ball all day, bottom line is with the line the way it is now, we're just not going to be able to run effectively.

So not only can we not run, we can't pass, and we obviously couldn't score yesterday.

Re: What's your take on our coaching?

i am disappointed in our coaching staff for not recognizing the problems and making adjustments.

if the run game is going no where, try some short screens and hits that work like a run game. they should have anticipated the run game getting shut down or atleast planned for a "what if" scenario.

just didnt expect beck to be that hesitant either.

where the hell has the long ball gone? last year the big play was a consistent occurrence for our offense, this year it seems like we are back to the same ole in the box offense that doesnt stretch the field.

i know kyles offense can work big plays, weve seen it before.

ALSO...can someone explain why there wasn't a no huddle offense? I swear if I were Snyder, and thank god I'm not, I'd walk in Redskin Park today and fire Kyle Shanahan.

EXCELLENT question! Remember how important it was for the QB to be able to hurry up and run the 2-minute offense? Remember how impressed the coaches were with John Beck and the tempo at which he played?

Here are three games in a row where the Redskins have been behind and there has been no semblance of a hurry-up offense. So what happened to the tempo?

Yeah the lack of urgency is really maddening.

Maybe only Rex had the cardiovascular endurance to run a hurry up offense.

Funny how we lose Hightower and now have no running game. Guy was huge for us.

We haven't had much of a running game since the Giants game...except maybe the Rams game.

We were running it down Carolina's throat the entire first half until Hightower went down.
