Betts, Trung, Sultan, Morton, Rock...thats five back up running backs. Some of them are going to be gone. Who do you guys think will still be here. Morton will be here as a return man, and a situational thing. Cartright could play the back on punts, he could be a threat there. Rock technically could play some fullback I guess. I think Trung will be gone, and Betts will have to beat out McCullah. Neither cost much money but they might need the roster space.

Portis, Betts, Sultan, Morton, Rock, and Trung...is Simon still on the roster too? It depends on how many RB's will they keep...

The only locks are Portis, and Morton (for kick returns). The rest will have to fight it out in camp. I like most people, see Trung being gone, and maybe Simon too (don't know much about him), but really I like the other three, so whoever plays best and wins the back-up job is fine with me.
Betts is your more traditional RB, size-wise, plus he has shown flashes of what he could do, if he can just stay healthy.
Rock, well, he's a rock...compact and tough. Great guy to have on your team.
Sultan seems to be like the typical unknown guy that could come out of nowhere and do very well if given the opportunity...the question is, now that we have an all-pro RB Portis that's about the same size, do we need a guy like that (barring injuries)? Seems to be a potential J. Lewis/ P. Holmes type of situation where they have the franchise back, so the other guys goes on to succeed somewhere else. They could also put him on the practice squad if they need roster space...just in case.

i was just wondering, is there any chance rock has the required skills to play h-back? i honestly can't remember how well he catches but he's a little spark plug who can get u decent gains most of the time. even if he can't i think hes a lock for the team. candidate is gonna be gone, simons gone i already i believe, betts has the frame and skills i think gibbs likes in a rb so he's most likely the backup, but i also think mcullough might have the chance to steal the backup job this summer. and then again it could be someone we don't even have on the roster yet 2.

I think the problem with Rock playing H-back is his size. He's solid as a rock (pun intended!), but is too short....maybe he'd play it on occasion, but probably not as the starter or main back-up. In Gibbs system, he'd probably be better suited as a RB.
