Re: 2012 redskins

I see Landry staying with the team next year. Haslett will talk him into it.

Prior to the past 2 seasons, Landry was pretty solid health wise.

His game changing ability is well worth the risk.

well yeah that's when he didn't have the achilles issue, now he does and he's not getting the recommended surgery that is supposed to fix the issue.

That's the problem. Have the surgery and come back 100%.

Didn't we lose?

The only playoff game we have won since like 2000 is the 2005 win against the Bucs. ST made a game changing play in that game.

I'll give you GB last year, but if we really looked at it how many games has his play lost us a game? I know that for a fact that he was not in the end of the Houston game last year, when Reed Doughty gave up the game tying TD to Andre J. in the final seconds. He wasn't there because he hurt himself early in the fourth quarter.

He misses more games and also plays out of position enough that not paying him a ton of money is a really good idea.

He also might want out of DC making this conversation mute.

Then you also may have a scenario where there isn't a big market for him in the range of what he wants out of his next contract, outside of DC b/c of the salary cap not moving much the next couple of years. Look at last years deals, some of the pundents site the lockout but others contend that the new CBA cap restraints for the next couple of years may play a factor in teams not signing long contracts.

Nobody remembers his pick in OT against Green Bay? I know we all want to dispute any impact he's had for us lately, but come on.

Also I completely disagree with his decision not to have surgery. You go the "newfangled off-the-wall" treatment route after you have surgery and it fails to correct it, not when you need surgery but want to do everything possible except get the surgery. If he's injured again this season I'm going to really not concern myself with whether or not we release him. Maybe he's one of the Redskins CR was talking about when he said he knows "many" players who want to leave this team.

I agree all around. His pick against Green Bay was huge. He also needs to get surgery if he wants to play at a high level.
