That's assuming Roy Helu isnt this year's Ryan Torrain.

Luckily Evan Royster might be a good change up back as well. In fact, if he repeats the performance he had last week, I'd probably move him up above Roy Helu.

Nah, doubt it.

Torain's problem was always how slow he was to the hole. Without clear lanes he was done.

Helu and Royster are much quicker and decisive to the holes. Plus they both cut better, Torain just kinda lumbered around.

Not that your fears are unfounded, but Helu has been much better in 2011 than Torain was in 2010. That and Helu was never a street free agent, unwanted by all teams. Those are significant differences.

Massive exageration. We don't need a whole new starting team. Every team has weak spots. GB D is pretty weak as a whole except for turnovers which fits their offense perfectly. The Jets, the team that went to AFC championship the past two years, has one decent pass rusher and half of a quarterback.

We get a number 1 wr, 1 more Oline stud and keep our starters from the beginning of the year for depth and Smith, and of course a great qb, we can begin to compete as long as we aren't ravished by injuries.

Our D has kept us in games. If we could have scored 24 points in every game this year we would be 10-5 instead of 5-10.

I tend to agree. Just keep adding pieces (another quality deep draft class would help), get a QB in here that won't turn it over twice a game, and we're on track.

He's absolutely right. We need a least ten players to be considered a contender. We don't have a qb on this team right now.

QB: We all know that Beck and Grossman sucks. We need a young guy for the future and a good vet to come in here and school him.

RB: I like our back field with Helu and Rosyter, however, we going to need another guy that can step in case one of those guys go down.

OL: Our oline is improved and I think we found some gems in Smith, Polumbus, and Hurt. However, with Jamal Brown poor play, Lichtensteiger injury, and Montgomery average play we might be looking for 3 new starters on this oline. Even if we bring them back and we plug them back in we will still need to bring in more oline men.

TE: TE use to be a position I thought we were strong at, but with Cooley's recent string of injuries and Fred Davis having a one year suspension hanging over his head it has quickly became a position of need. Cooley is definitely finish here. Davis a liability if we do decide to resign him. Paulson hasn't impressed me at all. I'm sure one of those guys will not be returning next year. We are going to have to get at least one difference maker at TE.

WR: This is position that is by far the weakest. Moss and Gaffney are at the end of their careers. Our guys haven't really shown that much promise outside of the one good game Hankerson had. Even though I think he's going to be a really good player. Niles Paul and Terrence Austin really haven't shown me anything. We need two good wrs that can compete against good secondaries if we want to have a good passing game.

DL: We haven't played good run defense this year, but I think this unit is fine. They will be dominate as they get chemistry. The only think I would say is that we can use a NT. I like Cofield and I think he's a great player but we need a guy that clog the middle. Cofield really hasn't been able to do that. He's out of position. We need to look to improve depth.

LB: We're pretty much set at LB for right now. I do think that Orakpo would be better suited for the 4-3. I wouldn't be surprise if we dealt him in the near future. LF is old and we will soon be looking to replace him. Other than that our lbs have set. We need to look to improve depth here.

CB: Hall is a huge liablity in coverage. This guy get abused by big wrs and speedy wrs. He doesn't tackle very well neither. The only thing he does well is caught. We definitely need a upgrade here. Josh Wilson play has improved over the last few weeks, but I'm not sold on him neither. At the very least we need to bring in a cover guy to compete with what we have here and some guys for depth.

ST: Landry is a very talent guy, but he's stays injured. I want to bring him back. I'm sure not sure if he's ever going to be the player that we thought he would be when to took with the 6th pick. Reed Doughy sucks all around the board. I never see him again in a Redskin's uniform. OJ really didn't stand out this year. I'm not sure what to make of him at this point. What do know is he stayed injured for the most part. I'm not ready to give up on him yet. Gomes looks like he play. He might not be a starter as of right now. Yet, I do believe he deserves to be on this team. We need to upgrade this position.

I'm a firm believer that a team is a good as the player sittings on the bench. We don't need just good starters. We need quality depth, not just a few players here and there. This team is far from being complete. Mike and Bruce are showing us the way to build a team properly. What irish said was the truth. We are at least 10 players away from being competitive.

Re: What is Andrew Luck Worth?

Take this in consideration as well; the Skins surely won't be in a position to draft Barkley next year either.

We have quite a few holes, giving up alot for a QB was how we use to think. Whatever the FO thinks I'll role with.

Re: What is Andrew Luck Worth?

Two great posts back to back here.

1st- I've been saying it numerous times and I'll say it again; If you hit on the right QB in the draft, suddenly a lot of those weaknesses on your team go away.

2nd- Barkley, your correct, will not be in our plans next year, we A) can't wait that long/nor can shanahan, to draft a QB, and I think the Browns will draft him next year or the Seahawks.

Even as sure of a thing as Manning was and has been in his career there have been other QB's that have stepped in and improved their teams considerably and some of them even have more rings than Manning. Just someting to think about when talking about "sure things". I think trading 3 1st rounders for anyone is going to set you behind in some way.

Re: What is Andrew Luck Worth?

Luck fits Shanahan's Scheme to a T. Mobile, throws good on the run, ran a pro play action heavy O in college, and comes from the same college as the only qb to ever get a ring for Shannahan.

I'm willing to give 3 1st rounders for him. 2012 is basically just switching picks, 2013, and then swap our 1st for their 2nd or 3rd rounder in 2014. We would probably have to give a couple more picks or players in there as well.

Re: What is Andrew Luck Worth?

#1- I think it's a lot to give up but if most everything is already in place and all the team needs is a top notch QB then I'm in, however most of us here would agree "most everything" is not in place. WR could be taken in the second round, we might find a FS in later rounds, Jenkins will be back and hopefully healthy which basically acts like another draft pick.

I'll get killed for this but defensively I'm happy where we are at. There is always room for imporvement but I like how our defense has played keeping teams scores low. I see the same teams playing elsewhere putting up a lot of points and the Skins hold them to around 20 or less. I think with Jenkins and a FS and maybe a CB the defense might be a ton better.

Offensively (other then QB) a #1 WR is a need. We have FB Young but picking up another FB might be in order. I like our TE's so I might go with OL as long as the RB's can come back healthy. So ...

Defensive: FS, CB
Offensive: WR, FB, OL, and of course QB.

If the team can get Luck (which I can't even figure out any reason the Colts would not pick him or would trade away the pick) for 3 first rounders then I guess I would be OK with it but only if they turned the other picks into 12 picks again. Either draft a top notch WR in the second round or trade back for more picks and do the same with the 3rd rounder... pick a position of need or trade back for more picks. In a nutshell the team has to get better protection for whoever is in at QB and give them better weapons to get the ball to.
