You don't make these huge trades for young quarterbacks in hopes of making the playoffs next year or even for the current head coach. You do it to make the franchise better down the road if you don't like any of the other college prospects. If we traded three first round picks for Luck, it would make everyone who ever used the word "rebuilding" on the topic this team look dumb. We'd have no choice but to sign big money free agents to give Luck a competitive team. But enough good personnel decisions, and you can get yourself out of any mess, with or without Andrew Luck.
