Re: What is Andrew Luck Worth?

I think Luck and RG3 is just what this organization needs at qb. However, I'm smart of to realize they are far from all we need to be a consistent winner in this league. We have holes at C, OG, RT, WR, CN, and ST. If we do mortgage away the future for Luck or RG3 we will still have this glaring needs that will keep us out of the playoffs. Now I'm not saying that I wouldn't draft one of these guys but I wouldn't give up multiple first rounders for any player at this point. It's way to early to say who we should or shouldn't draft. We haven't seen the senior bowl, combine, or workout any of these players. Hell, our season isn't even over yet. Who knows Tannehill or Foles might just fit our system like a glove. We might end up with the fourth pick in the draft and be in position to draft RG3. We don't know. However, what I do know is whatever happens we need to get as many picks as we can and fill up this roster with young and talent players on both sides of the ball if we want to be a contender. I don't think we're going to get everything we need in this one draft. I do believe we can be vastly improved based on the quality and quantity of players coming out of this draft. |

Re: What is Andrew Luck Worth?
Everyone knows that we need a qb. The problem is people are failing to realize that we don't have to trade away the next two years to get that qb. They are also failing to realize that a qb for the most part is only as good as the players around him.

Re: What is Andrew Luck Worth?
We have no idea how many games the Colts would have won this year with Peyton Manning. If it was five or six, does that diminish his greatness any?
To me, it does not. It just makes the Colts a bad team.

Re: What is Andrew Luck Worth?
I think the Colts would have won more games than six with Manning this year....at the least, eight games. This is assuming Manning was in good physical health.

This year's Colts are proof that a big-time QB can be worth many wins all on his own. And a big-time QB almost always comes with a big-time price.

Re: What is Andrew Luck Worth?
EXACTLY! I want to see the Redskins make a balls out effort to secure an elite prospect at QB. I'm tired of settling at the most important position and that's exactly what we've done for decades. Getting leftovers in free agency-even the best QB in the past 20 yrs, Brad Johnson was a leftover we got in a trade-or settling for flawed first rounders (Ramsey & Campbell) rather than making a bold strong move at the position. All this Tannehill, Foles, wait until 2nd or 3rd round crap is for the birds. This franchise is at a key point, are you willing to be bold or do you want to remain middling and irrelevant. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm tired of being the homecoming opponent. Mike, Bruce, Dan, go get your QB now!

2- Ramsey was, I thought at the time, the best QB and highest rated at the time. 3- Campbell. Only Cerrato would be scared that some other team might have made JC their 1st round pick. or 2nd for that matter which is why he made the leap. We all know Cerrato was an idiot. |

2-Ramsey was the last pick of the first round, hardly an elite prospect and was a project coming out in probably the worst QB class in NFL history (David Carr, Joey Harrington & Ramsey were first round picks). The most "accomplished" QBs from that draft were David Garrard and Josh McCown. Of course hindsight is 20/20 on how they turned out but this is exactly what we've done, settle. 3-Even the Campbell pick was reaching/settling for a project. Of course the easy argument is that Rodgers went one pick before him. True, but Rodgers was considered a borderline elite prospect that slipped because of questions on how long it would take to break him from Tedford's QB mechanics. But the point was, again, even if we got Campbell in the 2nd where he was projected, it is still settling for a second tier prospect.
