Well, it's not like the Raiders can replace Palmer without picking until the third round. If the $7 million of cap space they can free up is worth more than having him quarterback their team, I'm sure they'll do it, but it's not possible for them to improve from the outside.

I just don't understand why Jackson would go out and get Carson Palmer. He's just not worth what they gave up.

Didn't work re: saving Hue's job, but Palmer played quite well, all things considered.

1st and 2nd round pick well? He wasn't going to be able to justify the trade in one season no matter what he did. I think it's still a "live" trade for the Raiders (and an known victory for the Bengals).
