Tannehill has raw talent. He has only been starting at QB for a year and a half (previously played WR). His stock will skyrocket once he goes through the combine drills.

Shanahan's drafts the past two years have been too sharp for something like that to happen. I haven't seen Tannehill projected as a first round QB anywhere, let alone a top 6 pick. That would be an even bigger reach than Ponder going 12th last year.

I think I would rather draft Michael Floyd than Blackmon who could be another Dez Bryant character and player wise.

Here Tannehill appears in the first round although not in the top 6.

You could make the case that Locker, Ponder, and Gabbert were all overdrafted last year compared to where they were ranked in most draft sites. That's what happens to QB's.

I think Tannehill too, but it won't be 6th. We'll trade the 6th and move back to get Tannehill (or Foles maybe). I wouldn't rule out a FA QB either.

I'm not saying that it is not a reach. But people do reach for QB's - look at last year's first round.

I think that Tannehill is going to go a lot higher than some people seem to think.

Why do so many people keep saying this? It is ridiculous. Tannehill is not worth a top 10 pick. Not even a first round pick. But that is not to say he won't be drafted in the first round, he just shouldn't be.

He is more of a project than RG3 and less accurate and a lower ceiling.

If, IF, we target him I am sure Shanny will have enough sense to trade down and get a few more picks.

He basically said what he "thought" would happen not what he wanted to happen. Just about everyone here would love for the Skins to take Luck or RGIII, but most of with any common sense can figure that the Colts will take Luck and RGIII will probably go to the Rams, Browns, or Bucks.

So, when you see fans listing any of the other QB's besides Jones it's because they are figuring maybe the top 3 or 4 teams could take a QB and that leaves slim picking for the Skins and instead of going another year with out a QB they are saying we need to take whatever the next available QB is at #6, whoever they are.

Like to see us trade down before we make that pick with our first choice.

But what if ... And it's a BIG if ... Tannehill is evaluated and he's ultimately a quarterback that would be the type to excel in the Shanahans' system? ... What do you think they should do?

I think IF this is the case, there shouldn't be any messing around. If you have a quarterback that you like - available at the spot that you're drafting then I believe you can't take the risk of trading down or waiting. This is the position that will make or break an entire nfl organization.

The positive is that Shanny is getting around $7M a year, so canning him early is just too expensive. Hopefully he'll use this obligitory time to his advantage & build a competitive core up among these losses.

We'll see...I'll take any product Shanny delivers though because at least it would resemble a normal NFL team, as opposed as some of the Franken-messes that have been fielded before.
