That plan better include Peyton Manning because I aint about to spend my time and money driving to Landover to watch Nick Foles start for the 2012 Redskins...

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

After watching Eli and Brady last night I want a franchise QB. If Peyton is healthy and a free agent, Skins should get him.

If we get Payton I think we will trade down.

I personally think unless someone like RGIII falls to us or they really like Blackmon, we'll end up trading down.

I don't see why they wouldn't like Blackmon.

He seems to play like a combination of TO and Brandon Marshall. Big body and makes yards after the catch. If we can't get one of Luck or RGIII, I'd be just fine with Blackmon.

If Blackmon, Kalil, RG3, and Luck are all gone -- there's no one worth trading UP for at 6 that I can think of, so I think trading out of the slot may be hard.

If Blackmon IS there at 6 (and we dont trade up for a QB) we have to take him. Possible game changer.

What are we going to do with a dead HoFer?

If Peyton Manning is healthy and can be signed as a free agent, I'd consider it, but if we have to give up draft picks, no thank you. I'm also not interested in Weedon, it would be Chris Weinke all over again. If we're gonna have to give up picks for a qb, go all in and get Luck.

OMG, ok folks can we lay of the Chris Weinke BS? We could say the very same thing about each QB. Let me show you....

"I don't want PM cause he might turn out to be another McNabb."

"I don't want RGIII or Luck cause they might turn out to be another J.Campbell."

You see. We all want so bad for the QB we want to take to be picked so we over look their possible fault and talk big about all the other QB's faults. All I know is we had a look at Weeden and how he somewhat could run our basic offense and he did very well. Even the INT in the Senior Bowl can't be blamed on him like some would like to believe, he was hit in the lower back while trying to deliver the ball and the ball was INTed.

The bad news is we don't even know how RGIII or Luck would look in our offense or if they would even get along with our coaching staff.

"You know we wouldn't want to throw all those draft picks at a Rookie QB whom we don't even know if he can play in the NFL or might turn out to be a dud cause they are not playing in the spread offense or are having to take the ball from the Center 60-70% of the time which they didn't do in college."

I'm just not interested in drafting a 28 year old to be our "qb of the future". That is where the Weinke comparison comes in. A ton of picks for Luck >>>>>>>>> one pick on Weedon.

I totally understand, and I'm of the opinion that I would not want the team to toss out 4 draft picks plus from the first two rounds of this year and next just to get a QB they really don't know how well he will do in the NFL. On top of that even if I use my common sense and say he's got talent I don't see it making a whole mess of difference if the coaching staff is going to expect him to sit in the pocket to deliver the ball. To me ...

Mobile QB means rolling him out more or more shot gun situations so he can run if need be. Beck being the more mobile QB was made to sit in the pocket more often then Grossman. It really didn't make much sense. So if the team is not going to use the mobility then don't draft him. Save your picks and get more weapons to put with some other QB better suited for the pocket passing role.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

I think if we don't sign a QB in FA we will pick Weeden, If we sign a FA QB we will be going after Luck, RGIII, Bradford, Tannehill or etc. in the draft. I like Weeden but he would be older than most FA. Weeden makes sense if he starts right away IMO.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

So, during a Joe Theismann interview today, the Lebatard Show reported that we'll be signing Peyton Manning once he's released. They cited a source, so I did a search but could only find this: Peyton Manning May Want To Play For Redskins If Released | SI Tracking Blog – Tracking the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA On Twitter

They asked Joe Theismann his thoughts, and he was pretty upset and surprised the Skins hadn't learned anything from the McNabb debacle. He feels it's time to draft a QB and groom him to be our guy. I agree.

Joey T is a dumbass. It's not like they would be trading for him, and there is nothing that says they wouldn't draft a rookie QB even if they did bring him in. In fact, I'm quite certain that if he is brought in, expect a rookie QB to be drafted as well.
