CTS it is....or the new GTO or a 5 year old Merc/Jag/Acura.....ARGH!

Someone mentioned the CTS being bad on mileage, you should test drive the GTO. It's VERY plain on the inside and it isn't as fast as you'd think. My uncle has one and he fills it up every 2-3 days and he doesn't drive that far.

What year is the GTO? Also, what tranny does he have? Auto/Manual?

For 2005, the GTO got the LS2 C6 400hp 6.0L engine, as compared to the LS1 C5 350hp 5.7L engine it had the previous model year. The type of driving he does and the transmission the car has also makes a big difference too. The automatic GTO is considered a "gas guzzler" by the gov't while the 6speed is not (difference of ~$2k in taxes). The 6speed gets several MPG better. I've read where the C5 manual gets ~30mpg cruising@60mph, so I would expect the GTO to get a similar number.
