Orton = Grossman in my book. Gets drafted by the Bears and doesn't turn out to be a franchise QB, gets traded to the Bronco's and does not do very well turns out he's not a franchise QB otherwise they would not have traded him to KC where amazingly enough turns out he was not their answer to having a franchise QB.

I don't t see the novelty and hope the coaching staff does not either.

That's what I'm saying. Orton is basically the same guy has Grossman. Just don't see any reason why we'd sign him.

i wouldn't say that, i think he is one slight notch above grossman, his overall numbers are slightly better and his td to int ratio is worlds better. grossman has 56 td's to 60 int's for his career, thats just god awful, it's hard to say anyone else is that bad. that said i don't want orton here, the last time he was in fedex he got benched for chris simms if i'm not mistaken, talk about terrible qb's.

Yeah, because he got hurt. I remember him burning us on a bomb to Marshall and we probably lose that game if he didn't get hurt.

Might want to check his numbers in Denver, he played well in '09 and '10 before Tebow-mania took over. And he wasn't traded to KC, they picked him up on waivers a few weeks after Cassel got hurt. He's not a franchise QB but he's a solid vet. We could do a lot worse, like Grossman/Beck.

Question is: why wasn't Grossman and Beck on waivers?

Orton was released because he was going to become a free agent at seasons end and the Broncos new he was not going to be resigned. The Redskins did not want to pick up Orton on waivers because he had a 8 million dollar contract for the season. So why would we sign him off waivers when he will be a free agent at the end of the season. We can get him for alot less now if we think he is better than Rex. I say they are even but Rex has more time in our offense which gives him the edge.
