Just because Manning may be interested in playing for Houston doesn't mean he doesn't want to Here either

3rd year in the same system, OL understanding their assignments better, combined with a really good run game, and I don't care what anyone says our defense was one of the best limiting teams to 20 or less points most of the time. Thats what you want. Look at the Patriots they gave up the most yrds all year but teams had a hard time scoring on them. Thats pretty much us. 5-11 doesn't sound like a contender but you have to look at the overall play and in most of those games the Skins lost by like 3 points. Get a decent QB and decent WR's and that alone could be the difference of getting a few more 1st downs for a field goal, or even 1 more TD per game. |

this was the quote you were answering to: Read the fine print. He wants to play for a Super Bowl contender

Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
I said SB? I said contender. If we make it into the first round are we not contenders? The non contenders are the teams that didn't get to the playoffs, or so I thought.

Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
If he's healthy he makes any team he plays for a Super Bowl contender. See the Colts for proof...Super bowl contender with him and worst team in the league without him.

Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
Yes. I can not see any scenario where PM says to himself "I have to play for the Redskins." The Skins are waaaaay too far away from being contenders and have no weapons for him to use. Manning is smart enough to recognize Washigton is just not a good option for him.

Funny I can see him thinking the other way. Especially with Montana having spoken to him telling him how good MS is along with the OL being blocking better, and 3 really decent RB's who did very well in the second half of the season. I can see him saying if they take me and pick up 1 or top WR's from free agency, draft a young QB, pick up another WR, get some OL and fix the couple of holes they have on defense the Skins could go pretty far. I think he's pretty smart too to recognize a team that is on the verge of becoming great and might want to be apart of that. |

I do think he would help this team get better fast but I'm not sure he can get them to the playoffs. |

3rd year is usually the charm in most teams that change their coaching staff. If not charm they make major strides. I'm excited for next year but we definitely need a QB and to not mortgage the future of this team for any one player. |
