Ok, so.... where are we after we draft RGIII and he turns out to be no better then Grossman? makes wrong reads, makes bad throws, makes bad decisions and we win no more games then we did last yr or do worse?

I would say that RGIII is a much better pro prospect than Grossman was coming out of college. RGIII has potential/athletic ability far above and beyond anything Grossman ever showed. IMO

and I'm not at all argueing that. I'm just wondering why everyone simply expects RGIII to come out and play like Eli Manning when he has not even played against top tier NFL talent. I'm just wondering what plan B is if he comes out and plays like ... IDK, I'd say Vince Young but some of you are high on him as well for whatever reason. Lets just say he throws 2 INTs a game and makes bad decisions?

See, I'm planning for worse case scenario hoping for best case. I think some fans here or atleast it sounds like it see RGIII being the problem solver and there is no need for plan B. I'd rather not had given up 3-4 picks to get RGIII and he fail then to keep my draft picks and turn them into 3-4 picks with a plan A and a plan B in place.

I have said in numerous posts that I would rather have manning(healthy), a top flight WR, a back up QB and maybe a ILB (Te'o?) next year than Griffin this year(The three picks we would have to give up being those players). I just think it makes us a better team. However if we cant get that then I want Griffin. I am so tired of routing for a team with no real QB

More bad news surfaces for Peyton:

Manning underwent unknown surgery last year | ProFootballTalk

More surgery expected: Manning’s neck has potentially developed bone spurs. The Colts believe further surgery is “nearly inevitable,” even if Manning can successfully return to football this year.

Hard to know what to believe anymore. Could just be the Colts version of things.

Interesting timing for the release of these "new details".

So that's 4 times he's been cut on in under two years? I just don't think he's going to be able to play anymore with this type of injury that's preventing him for throwing the ball like he use to.

Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice

Peyton has earned the right to play this out however he sees fit, but I'd rather see him retire than come back and play as a shell of his former self and then basically be forced to hang it up for performance reasons.

talked about on the radio, basically the surgery would probably need to be done after his career is over or atleast what the discussion is on the radio. Not another surgery before he can play again.

the big news though is that he had 4 surgeries vs. what everyone thought was only 3. He kept one secret but again on the readio their saying most likely this is something most teams knew about but the fans wouldn't have knowledge of.

and I think my problem is I don't know that RGIII is what we are looking for. I would love for everyone to be right. I'd love to be one of those teams that has a 500 year and goes out next year and gets the rest of what we need to make it to the play offs, but I have this major concern that we trade up and get him and he's a failure in our system. (for you system guys). Has trouble with his footwork, has trouble reading the defenses in front of him, so on and so forth. Then we are in a situation having spent 3-4 draft picks, down 3-4 quality players and even more if those picks were doubled, and yes most likely MS's coaching would be over here. Consistancy gone.

I feel like it's a trap. However if he brings in someone like a Flynn or Hoyer, drafts a 2nd tier QB, picks up a WR or 2 in FA, and drafts a WR, hopefully trading back like last year to create more opportunities to get something right he has a better opportunity to capitalize on his return.

1- a young FA QB
2- a young drafted QB
that alone is 2 more chances to get something right.

3- 2 FA WR's
4- 1 drafted WR
that alone gives us 3 chances to get decent production.

and if they took another QB late in the draft with some OL, and a FS the team should better off along with the fact they would have a full compliment of picks the following year to again get more talent on this team.
