Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going

For me I started to believe in Manning's comeback after I read a post on here linking to an article by the Seahawks fan site that cleared up some things on his surgery. It gave me the impression that with more throwing and practice, the better the arm will get. If someone can repost that here it would be great.

I agree, it's the most sensible article about his situation. It was posted in the other thread.

I only doubt that he'll ever be healthy again. If he's 100% of the QB he's always been, then there's certainly no doubt. But I think given all the surgeries, that's a stretch at this point.

It amazes me we have so many doctors and physical therapists, on this site, that have worked with Peyton.

I would certainly not propose to tell you what or how to think, but surely you can understand that some of us may see the situation differently. Four surgeries, uncertainty about recovery, his age, and playing out of his comfort zone in Indy would be factors that might be considered when evaluating the wisdom of adding him to the Redskins roster.

Noone is even remotely saying this, but there is also the chance that if he comes to the Skins, with our coaching staff and our dual tight ends, along with adding another talented receiver via free agency, that he could do BETTER here than he did with Indy. Our defense, albeit young, is much more talented than ANYTHING that has come out of Indy the past 10 years, and if Peyton can make Austin Collie and Pierre GarCon valid threats, why in the world couldnt he do that with say a Dwayne Bowe, Hankerson, Gaffney, both our tight ends and a pass catching and explosive young RB in Helu? The more I think of it, the more I like the idea of him here, grooming a Foles or Tannehill for 3 or 4 years. Who better to teach how to play the position to a young talented QB, than the best QB to ever play the game, motivated, and with a chip on his shoulder, ready to prove the doubters wrong.

Also, lets think of the situation this way. Washington won 5 games this past year with arguably, well, ok, with definitely the WORST QB play in the league. We beat the super bowl champs twice, all while the NFCE champion took the division with only 9 wins. You think that with an additional year in the system, our defense cannot perform better? You think that given a competent offense, the burden wouldn't be taken off the defense to keep us in games, and that wouldn't translate into a MUCH better squad than last year???? Peyton Manning would transform this team instantly, and we could contend for the title THIS year, all while perserving our youth, and grooming the squad the correct way, without giving draft picks to other teams.

In conclusion, all I am saying is this.

Peyton Manning, along with a smart draft and a couple solid free agency acquisitions will turn this team around alot faster than people might think possible. Other teams do it, why not the Skins with a healthy Peyton Manning? Im 99% sure that Peyton Manning will be healthy enough to play if he signs a deal with a team, I believe that he will make sure he is ready to go, as will his doctors and new team. He will only improve whatever team snags him, and hopefully the skins FO signs him, instantly giving us credibility at the position, and as a true contending team. I dunno if I can change any of the peoples thoughts around here regarding him, along with all of the PM negativity, but I think that even if we do sign him, the people that are doubting him will be very excited deep down inside, just knowing what he is capable of doing. His uncanny ability to make even average players play at their best, turning them into ferocious competitors, and just the way he leads his squad. He is definitely worth his weight in gold, or burgandy and gold for that matter.

What I like about the possibility of getting a healthy Peyton Manning is if the Colts release him, we get him without giving up valuable draft picks. The #6 pick then becomes a more flexible bargaining chip.
Trading down five or so spots for more picks in this deep draft makes sense. I keep hearing there will be 1st round talent near the top of the second round, like last year where we nabbed Jarvis Jenkins. He was one our best D-lineman in camp and preseason before he got hurt. He will be a bonus in 2012.
If we can get Tannehill and still fill our huge need at OL and CB with talented, young and inexpensive draft picks, this would be a banner offseason.

what is amazing about the doubt? i can throw a football farther than him. it's been how long since the injury? it's been how long since the first surgery? he's had how many surgeries? i'm not putting him into the same category as santa claus or the easter bunny, but come on, doubt is very reasonable at this point. let me know when he can throw a football farther than i can.

I'm not even talking about the Skins picking him up, just saying if I had to bet, my money would be on PM making a return... somewhere.

Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going

This is what i expect:

We will add a veteran who will be the opening day starter which will be 1. Manning or 2. Orton

We will draft a QB in the second round or late first which will be 1. Tannehill or 2. Cousins

We will add another young QB reject from another team which will be 1. Clausen or 2. Dirty Sanchez

I dont see us moving up for RG3 or Luck b/c the asking price will be too high. Either way, our QB will be better than last year.

This is what I expect:

We make the move up take RGIII who is our opening day starter.

Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going

I really don't know at this point what the skins will do. It would be amazing we signed Manning, Colston or Jackson then still traded up to get RGIII. I know it won't happen, but i can dream.
