According to Schefter, Stanford Routt has signed with the Chiefs. Does this mean Brandon Carr is on the market?

I'm going to say that it doesn't do much for Carr's status except give the Chiefs a tiny bit of leverage. $6.5 mil/year for a nickle back (which is what Routt will get) is not unreasonable, especially when you have as much cap room as the Chiefs.

This. It also gives the Chiefs negotiating room with Carr, because they don't look so desperate now that they have a plan B if Carr leaves. I'm all for Carr leaving because I wouldn't mind us signing him, but signing Routt is a good thing for the Chiefs.
