Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
News on Luck.
Luck still may throw at Scouting Combine | ProFootballTalk Quote:
Again it was a rumor from a coworker. I didn't put much stock in it and he didnt' tell me where he heard it or read it. I'm just asking if anyone else heard the same thing and if anyone knows if there is any merrit in it. |

A lot of people have been guessing the Redskins might move into the bottom of the 1st for a Tannehill/Weeden and the Patriots make sense as a trade partner. I haven't heard anything concrete.

you have also heard that we might trade back to late 1st round possibly with someone like the Patriots? What would we get for trading that far back? their 1st, and 2nd? or more picks? |

I wouldn't say I've heard anything, I've just seen the speculation

But, a lot of people, myself included would gain a ton of respect for him if he does throw. It would be great if all the top prospects started throwing at the combine. I hope, like Cam Newton, all top QB prospects decide to throw from now on. Last edited by 30gut; 02-22-2012 at 02:03 PM. |

But does it really matter? If the Colts are set on taking Luck then it shouldn't matter if he sucks it up or if he comes out blazing. The Colts would be better served to tell him not to run the 40 so he doesn't hurt his foot or knee or hammie. |

And that is the exact reason why most top QB prospects don't throw at the combine if they can get away with it and Luck certainly could. If Luck chooses to compete in the throwing sessions at the combine he takes on the needless risk of being upstaged; the risk of not throwing or looking like the best QB prospect on the field. Keep in mind I'm not saying the above will happen. I'm just pointing out the chief 'negative' if Luck chooses to compete at the combine when he can wait til his pro-day. Now, if Luck does choose to compete it will say a lot about his personality and competitive spirit; it will be ballsy. I hope the kid goes out there and just grips it and rips it! let the cards fall where they may. Go out there and show you've got nothing to hide. Compete shoulder to shoulder with the other QB prospects. It will continue a great precedent started by Cam Newton. Last edited by 30gut; 02-22-2012 at 03:14 PM. |
