Yes, Yes, Yes, ..... probably not but it would be cool. The Rams would have to waver on their offer, or he fall to the Vikes and we make them an offer. No way he goes past the Browns. I'm guessing PM, Saturday, Wayne, VJax, and from the draft Tannehill to learn from PM, and either RT, FS, or WR.

As great as Manning is, he does not fit the redskins system. It would take a lot of work for both Shanahan's and Manning to make this work. Also there is the health issue....

re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
I can't remember the last time a truly great QB was going to be out on the street waiting for anyone to sign him. Maybe an old Joe Montana? Or Farve I guess. Brees wasn't the player he is now.
I think it comes down to Miami and us. KC and Az is too cheap to pay him. Do the Jets even have the cap room? |

Although I just had this thought. We'd troll those covetous Ravens fans sooo hard if we got Manning.

re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
I don't think Manning would ever let a situation fall apart on him and result in a long losing streak, but then again, I thought McNabb did a decent job of preventing the season from falling apart, and he was sent to the bench for his efforts, twice.
I'm not saying Manning wouldn't be more successful than McNabb (I think it's a foregone conclusion he would be more successful), but I don't think he would be beyond the Shanahammer if it was deemed that Manning wasn't getting the most out of his team.

Something's still not adding up.
Why would Manning attend a presser with Irsay if he's going elsewhere. Makes no sense at all. |

Irsay can mollify Colts fans. Peyton can say goodbye. A hopeful PR win-win.

Peyton is SPECIAL. IF he is healthy enough to play, you take a chance on him. I think Peyton would carve up the NFC East defenses on a regular basis. Even if we made NO other improvements (which we undoubtedly will), how many more games do you think we would have won this year if we had a healthy Peyton instead of Grossman/Beck?

re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
My guess who has the best shot to land Manning:
1. Arizona 2. Jets 3. Chiefs 4. Fins 5. Skins Skins will be in the discussion, but I still think the focus will be to move up and get RG3. I think that appeals more to Shanny at this point.

re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
If Manning comes to the Redskins through free agency, I wouldn't be mad because I know what he's capable of as far as leading an offense. But at this point, I'd rather have RG3.
