Hmmmmm. Is it to early to celebrate? I mean Adam Schefter is confirming that the Redskins will indeed be docked.
The real question is what does JLC know about this...

Look, if Vinny freaking Cerratto could get us big name players in FA when we were OVER the cap, then I think Bruce can do well when he's still UNDER the cap.

From the Redskins Blog The Redskins Blog | Statement On Adjusted Salary Cap Reports:

This is the official statement of Redskins general manager Bruce Allen on recent media reports of an adjusted salary cap for the 2012 season:

“The Washington Redskins have received no written documentation from the NFL concerning adjustments to the team salary cap in 2012 as reported in various media outlets. Every contract entered into by the club during the applicable periods complied with the 2010 and 2011 collective bargaining agreements and, in fact, were approved by the NFL commissioner’s office. We look forward to free agency, the draft and the coming football season.”

Re: NFL taking away Redskins cap space

Jerry Jones and Daniel Snyder should sue the league, Al Davis style. I wasn't a fan of AD, but he certainly would be all over this, and for good reason. This whole deal is just ridiculous, and reeks of corruption at some level.

The other 30 owners should feel very uneasy (even if they agree that Skins/Cowboys did something wrong) about the league office handing down a penalty like this. It sets a very bad precedent.

I keep waiting for the news of our newly acquired #2 pick being taken from us due to what Gregg Williams has been accused of while here. Today's news makes that thought not so far fetched.

In related news, Dan Snyder just bought this statue and plans to have it put in front of the NFL offices in New York City.

Re: NFL taking away Redskins cap space

People keep saying the league warned teams not to do this. Who gives a flying **** what the NFL warned teams not to do? What matters is what is on paper in legal terms. They can't make rules on the fly, which is exactly why the CBA is put in place.

Did you see the league punish the Bears for their bullshit trade they messed up even though they "agreed" on? Nope. So neither should these bullcrap terms either.
