Where do you come up with 10 mil per year?

His guaranteed money is only 26 million. Thats all that matters anyway is the guaranteed money. They have the option to void the final year of the contract in 2013.

They can take his salary in 2013 and convert it to a signing bonus and prorate that over 3 years. Which means his total salary cap numbers will be over the next 4 years are 3.2 for 2012 and 4.2 mil over the next 3 years after that.

In fact, all 6 free agents the Cowboys have signed this year will only count 11 million against the cap this year.

I don't see where you come up with 10 mil/yr just for Carr though?

It's thirty three million in years 1-3, so it's really $11 mil/year on Carr through the years where they can't move him b/c of the contract. After that point, it's two additional years at 8.5 mil, which is more reasonable.

Money is frontloaded because that's the only way he'd sign.

I made that assumption the day he signed, and didn't care to look up the actual structure of his deal when the contract details were released (I'm not a Dallas fan)... but since you've analyzed, disected, and vividly explained Carr's his contract, it's a more reasonable signing, but I'd also add another CB to replace M. Jenkins
