Why thanks and the same back to you. AS far as how this will turn out no one at this point knows who going to win. Jobs numbers coming out tommorow will show a flat number around 158,000 new jobs but thats only enough to replace the jobs lost last month. That will not help Obama and now that I see people starting to beg for help from Sandy on the news that might over the next few days hurt Obama. Only time will tell.

How will that hurt Obama? He's not the one on record saying he wants to end FEMA or completely gut it. Which is why the Mittster has been keeping his mouth closed as of late at his faux photo ops.

It is going to take an act of both Congress and the Senate to ditch the electoral college. As nobody seems to like it at all! They need to only go for the popularity votes.

Ever heard of Florida 2000? That is how we noticed the electoral college thing in the first place!

Election Forecasts - FiveThirtyEight Blog - NYTimes.com

Speaking of Sammy and Baden's bet, Silver has ponied up a 2k bet to Scarborough that Obama will win and it's not even close.

We'll see come Nov 6.

If a business owner allows an administration or product pricing (within reason)to run them out of business then they probably should not own a business. I'm also speaking for the small business owner who alot of the federal regulations do not affect. I do know owners of larger businesses not hiring because of increased cost from health care and additional regulations but the business is still thriving. Most regulations like health care affect the employees more then the employer.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election (free for all edition)

Good news. A large truck load of wtaer has arrived and several large generators have arrived in time to help the people of in NY without power or water. OP's, its for the maraton runners so keep your hands off their water and get back in line for that gas. These generators are for the Maraton. Yes police will deal with the looting after they are done with trafic control at the marathon. Sad.

A private club is footing the bill for the generators and water, but I think it's pretty god damn classless of them to do this at this time. I mean downright insensitive. I have to say Mayor Bloomberg should be crucified for this lack of judgement. Dedicating city resources to a race during this time is unthinkable. ****ing idiot.

Quote:
The New York Road Runners Club, which organizes the world-famous race, is paying for the generators, which were supplied by Long Island-based On Site Energy for the massive, 80-yard-long tent, which also will be used by runners carbo-loading during a pre-race pasta dinner tomorrow.

Neither would say how much the machines cost, but a Fire Department permit revealed a $37,500 fee to run them constantly through Nov. 6.

“These are our private generators. We are not draining any resources from the city’s plan to recover,” Road Runners spokesman Richard Finn angrily insisted.
