Didnt like much of what I saw of Tannehill in school, but there is no better situation for a young QB making a transition to the NFL than his. Bringing his head college coach with him to Miami that happens to be Mike Sherman and playing for a coach Philbin who developed Aaron Rodgers in a west coast system that projects well for Tannehill gives him alot of help to succeed. Need to surround him with some talent and getting rid of Brandon Marshall helped a ton. I like his chances of being good in Miami...I woulda liked his chances much less in Washington, Seattle, Cleveland...

It was a basic notion for the Dolphins to draft Tannehill mainly because he knew the system already. That gives him somewhat of an edge because he doesn't have to learn the playbook. But how good is Tannehill. Did he benefit from being a top ten pick only because Landry Jones and Matt Barkley stayed in school for their senior years? Tannehill does have potential. But we're going to see just how good he truly is.

I'm not sure how much knowing the offense is really going to do for Tannehill and I think it's a bit overrated, his real challenge is going to be learning to deal with the speed and complexity of an NFL defense.

Exactly. It's one thing to "know" a playbook. Its a whole other thing to execute it against a defense that you have to evaluate on the fly.

College offenses and defense have both gotten more complex over the years but the offenses are closer to the NFL complexity than the defenses are and learning to deal with facing something with multiple disguises as well as all-conference talent at every position is the hardest thing.

If knowing the offense is all it takes, Danny Wuerffel should have been awesome for us.

Just read that Ocho Cinco signed with Miami. They're so hard up for attention, and wr's.

We knew that Chad Johnson was going to sign with another team soon. He wasn't going to be a free agent receiver for very long.

Also, surviving nonstop hits when you have no offensive line.

Right, because he's so highly coveted. Good thing Miami locked him down into that long term one year deal.
