Not sure if this is the best or the worst of our future, but Peter Moore (aka the guy who was held hostage for 2 1/2 years in Iraq and managed to get out) did an AMA on Reddit that I found really interesting.

Black magic and evil spirits have captured the soul of a new-born baby in Colombia who can apparently already walk by himself and produce fire, his own mother has claimed. Ana Feria Santos gave birth to her son last month but says her joy quickly turned to fear when she noticed that he had 'several abnormalities' - leading to fears in her community that he is the 'devil in disguise'. She says the boy can already stand up and walk - quite a feat for a child of just four weeks. Much like the 1976 horror film The Omen, the mother-of-five says he frequently hides around the house, cackles in an 'adult' way for hours on end and has an 'intimidating' pair of eyes. |

When Political Correctness takes over
Hundreds of military, law enforcement and medical personnel will observe the Hollywood-style production of a zombie attack as part of their emergency response training. In the scenario, a VIP and his personal detail are trapped in a village, surrounded by zombies when a bomb explodes. The VIP is wounded and his team must move through the town while dodging bullets and shooting back at the invading zombies. At one point, some members of the team are bit by zombies and must be taken to a field medical facility for decontamination and treatment. "No one knows what the zombies will do in our scenario, but quite frankly no one knows what a terrorist will do," Barker said. "If a law enforcement officer sees a zombie and says, `Freeze, get your hands in the air!' What's the zombie going to do? He's going to moan at you. If someone on PCP or some other psychotic drug is told that, the truth is he's not going to react to you." Zombies? Can't call them 'Red Team' anymore? |

 Man arrested for DUI twice in one night at the same time 8 hrs ago It’s quite a feat to be arrested twice in one night for DUI. It’s All-Star levels of stupidity (and time travel!) to be busted on two separate occasions at the same time. Early on the morning of Nov. 4, police in Urbana, Ohio, helped 22-year-old Niles Gammons achieve the remarkable achievement. Gammons was pulled over at 1:08 a.m., failed a breathalyzer, was arrested, cited and released within an hour. At which point, clocks were turned back when Daylight Saving Time ended. Gammons was then pulled over -- by the same officer -- in a parking lot at...1:08 a.m. [Source] I always thought they kept you over night to sober up before alowing you to make bail. |

Sentenced to 10 years church MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A 17-year-old convicted of manslaughter will have to serve 10 years of church. The sentence was given by an Oklahoma judge and is sparking controversy throughout the nation. Last year Tyler Alred crashed his car into a tree, killing his friend. At the time Alred had a blood alcohol level of .07. He pleaded guilty, and the judge sentenced him to church. Possibly worse than prison. |
