Reports are that he came in through an exit by the screen, let off tear gas and shot from near or in front of the screen.

Thats just sad. I'm going to still see this movie, but I'm not going to lie, I'll be looking over my shoulder every now and then during it.

Sorry sir, you can't enter with your guns and body armor because you don't have a ticket. Not much a ticket taker is going to do to stop a armed man in body armor.

No reason to look over your shoulder. You are more likely to be struck by lightning than have this type of event happen to you.

I read the article but how do you get thur a exit door with no handle on the outside? If he truly came thur the emergency exit someone opened it for him. If you anyone read my post I said when the details come out. Shoot a few hours ago it was 14 dead and 50 injured those numbers have even changed.

Do you think people at this point may be speculating how he did it?

Ive heard speculation that he MAY have been employed through or had a connection with the movie theater in some way. So maybe he could have gotten the door open from the outside or had it stuck open after being inside.

His mom thought it was him when she was contacted by ABC, when just a name was known. Maybe because she knows her son is absolutely nuts or maybe because of some things he's recently gone through. I suspect you cant be too insane like and not get kicked out of the med school right away. But who knows.

I do/did, the thing is you don't know what is official reports and whats here-say. Like earlier this morning I heard from one news station that 15 could be dead--its 12. We're still getting out the facts, also keep in mind that some of us are limited to just the internet at work, so we can't see what they're saying on TV.

As far as what could a ticket person do to someone with guns, well obviously your right, not much, but there usually a cop in movie theaters, and who knows, maybe police could have gotten there sooner.

Also who brings a 3 month old baby into a theater, yet alone a LOUD movie, at midnight?!? Thats one of those, the baby shouldn't be there if there wasn't a shooting!

But don't worry this guy will be dead, Colorado has the death penalty in their state, no question here of if he's guilty.

And firstdown, are you being serious? Where do you live if you don't know of a batman movie coming out...

Thank you that was my point; we really don't know right now Iwas just speculating.

Every movie house fire door i have seen in my life from the outside:

And to speak to Mooby's trick; yes we did that too but one guy had to buy a ticket come in the theater and open it for us. Plus now a days if you open one it trips a alarm.

My local AMC theater let people walk out through the emergency exit doors all the time. You're right you can't open them from the outside but seeing as how they are used very frequently at my local theater it was very easy to wait for someone to walk out and then sneak in. If it's similar at that Colorado theater all he had to do was wait for someone to walk out and he has his entrance. One thing's for sure though, they won't be letting anyone leave through those doors again, either at my theater or the one in Colorado.

Re: Several Dead in Dark Knight Premiere Mass Shooting

One of the reports I read said he came in through the emergency exit, which isn't uncommon (back in high school me and friends used to do the same thing to avoid buying a ticket). Why would he walk in through the front entrance with 3 guns? He planned for the element of suprise. Walking in through the front is not an element of suprise. Anybody notice he waited until a shootout in the movie before he started firing? It was cold, brutal, and pre-meditated. He'll most likely die by lethal injection in a few years.

That is so very messed up. I cannot imagine being filled with so much hate that you would do such things.

Some onsite footage in the theater.

I think this scene comes to mind in regards to how this tragedy should have ended with James Holmes.
