The anti gun argument is flawed for one very simple reason: reality. These things already exist. Even if you made them illegal tomorrow, there are so many in existence through both legal and illegal channels that you will never prevent something like this. It's an undeniable tragedy but to place the blame on an inanimate object when there are countless alternatives capable of achieving the exact same level of destruction... That's just irresponsible and shortsighted thinking. If we could go back in time and "un-invent" guns (might as well get rid of nukes and all pointy objects while we've got the flux capacitor fired up) then I would agree with saden's point.
