Here is a speculative thought on my part, maybe wishful thinking as much as anything. The two reports I have been hearing are that Griffin is holding the ball too long, and that the Skins are running a lot of designed run plays. Both of which don't thrill me. But, they also say Griffin is purposely holding on so he can go through his progressions.

Now for my masterful observation:

Since they don't want Griffin running during a pass play, they are giving him extra designed runs to help him get the feel of scrambling against NFL defenders.

And I talked to someone who spoke with RG3 yesterday and RG3 said that's exactly what he's been told to do
