Why The Replacement Refs Are Horrible And Dangerous, In One GIF has the view from the front and to me it looks a little incidental that the top of #29's helmet hits Hey-Bey's chin. Still unfortunate nevertheless and I'm glad he's okay.

Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
Right before the hit to Hey-Bey, some other Raiders receiver got slammed with a helmet-to-helmet hit. I am sure this is a situation where a thrown flag would have in some way prevented any other helmet-to-helmet hits, like the one to Hey-Bey.

From this angle, it looks like Baltimore missed that FG Sunday night, and Ravens fans say as much at the end of the video: barstoolsports.com viva la stool Missed Field Goal - YouTube

For me though with the advancement of photography, it seems like every goal post ought to have 2 cameras with a wide angle lens and a circle of the post overlaid on it. In this case you could frame by frame it, and see how the ball crosses. I would hope that if it was so wide as to not be in the video, then the refs could make the call. But that might be hoping too much. |

Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
that is a helmet to helmet hit, he put his head down and launched up. Dirty and unnecessary.
PS- The way the defender acted after the hit is inexcusable as well. Just that should get his ass a huge fine, just for being a fukkin jerk. |

Im good with this one, no flag imo. I think the ref actually should have pulled a Smokey, stood over him and said "You got knocked the f*ck out!"

Not sure if serious. He's clearly leading with his helmet and coming up under his chin. Flag and fine.

Re: Replacement refs: The story the NFL wants to keep quiet
You have to be kidding me, he leads with the helmet, makes no attempt to get low, and thrusts his helmet upwards under his chin, that is one of the most dangerous hits you can make in football, talk about defenseless. Running with a full head of steam, and having someone do that to you. just look at how his left arm reacts to the hit.
BTW, he got fined 35k for the hit I believe. So much for the clean hit theory. I do understand its a cowboy on the receiving end, lol, but that doesnt make it right. |
