I think analysts have finally wised up to this as well. I've seen a few say that you can't compare Griffin to anyone because he's so unique.

RG3 on espn today. They said that after 7 weeks he is number one in completion % and yards per pass. Only two rookies in history have finished the year number one in both. One was our old friend Sammy Baugh. They didnt say who the other one was. Pretty impressive that he is there after 7 weeks though.

Because they were then stuck with Virgil somebody who didn't have the arm Cook did. So to compensate for the the QB's weak but accurate arm, Walsh (and Bill Johnson) created an offense to spread the ball around on short routes. The 3 step drop game was born.

Yeah most people forget that Walsh got his start in Al Davis' vertical offense and that was the plan for Greg Cook in Cincy
