I think Steve Young is probably the best analog, in that he was a very mobile, accurate and intelligent passer. While the comparisons with Vick are tiresome, from a purely physical (size, speed, arm strength) standpoint I can at least see them. But Cam, I don't see any similarities.

I think with Cam its because he is a running qb also. More so though he took the league by storm last just last year. You are rite though the comparisons are getting tiresome. Truth is nobody reminds me of Griff but Griff.

I think analysts have finally wised up to this as well. I've seen a few say that you can't compare Griffin to anyone because he's so unique.

RG3 on espn today. They said that after 7 weeks he is number one in completion % and yards per pass. Only two rookies in history have finished the year number one in both. One was our old friend Sammy Baugh. They didnt say who the other one was. Pretty impressive that he is there after 7 weeks though.

Greg Cook, whose injury paved the way for Bill Walsh's West Coast Offense

I know Walsh was the OC for Cincy at that time. Why did his injury pave the way?

Because they were then stuck with Virgil somebody who didn't have the arm Cook did. So to compensate for the the QB's weak but accurate arm, Walsh (and Bill Johnson) created an offense to spread the ball around on short routes. The 3 step drop game was born.

Yeah most people forget that Walsh got his start in Al Davis' vertical offense and that was the plan for Greg Cook in Cincy

I would have wagered that the back up had a weak arm. That is some interesting stuff. Thanks guys.

There is Batman. Not sure if he played QB though.
