Morgan, for as mind numbingly STUPID as that play was, is about 5th on the 'blame chart' for that loss. The timing of the penalty couldn't have been worse, but as someone else pointed out, his situational awareness of running towards the sidelines rather than getting up the field was worse. That set up the fact that it was a 4th down, so even if he threw the ball at an opponent it would have been dead ball, after the 1st down and we would have just lost the yardage.

The coaches (Haslett & Smith) are far more to blame, as are the refs. They were BRUTAL. Hopefully Morgan learns from his mistake. Expect Hankerson to get the start next week as a penalty.
