Re: How bad is our secondary?
If we don't cut or restructure him, then we take a 9MM cap hit. Hall wants to come back, and coaches probably want him back. In all likelihood, we'll cut him and resign him at a lower price.

Re: How bad is our secondary?
We need Hall. He wants to come back and we need him to come back. The pass rush needs to improve too. No pass rush = no pass defense.

Re: How bad is our secondary?
Madieu Williams stinks, everyone else is serviceable. but certainly none of them except perhaps Wilson would be starting for a decent team.

And if he makes the switch to free safety it opens up a whole new discussion.

Re: How bad is our secondary?
Madieu Williams wasn't so bad this past season. On some games that I've watched again, he was about of position- like when Nick Foles first TD pass in the second Philly game. He also had a pick 6 against the Minnesota Vikings, something nobody ever mentions. That hit on Dez Bryant in the end zone in the first Dallas game jarred the ball loose and prevented a score which is some of the good Madieu Williams did also....he wasn't as bad as people thought he was. But if the Redskins part ways with him, I wouldn't be surprised...I always hate to see a Maryland Terp fail regardless of what team he plays for....

Re: How bad is our secondary?
If Hall restructures he comes back. Period. We dont have the picks or cap space to use towards that many holes we need to fill.
Yea he's got an attitude but he has been huge in a few games this year.

Re: How bad is our secondary?
I'm pretty sure Hall said he's willing to restructure. I think he said he wants to retire as a Redskin.

Restructure implies moving salary around to benefit the cap. Hall is going to have to take a straight up paycut. He's been overpaid the past 5-6 years and he'll never get that type of coin he used to make. Most GM's know he has been a pretty horrible CB over the course of his career, which is why not many people were making a push for him once Oakland cut his ass.

When Hall was cut in Oakland I believe we signed him off waivers.
