At that point in the game the 1st down was more important then stopping the clock. If he makes the 1st we can spike the ball with around 50 seconds on the clock and time to run a few plays. If he gets stopped as he did we have around 60 seconds to try the FG. My question is why did we try the FG and not go for the 1st down. My guess is we had a better chance of gettig the 1st over making a 63 yrd kick.
