Re: 2013 Free Agents
As long as the RT is serviceable, that's all that matters. I'm willing to bet Mike Shanahan may draft a RT in the 3rd or 4th round to stabilize the RT position. A free agent will probably do, but a solid RT can be found in the draft.

Re: 2013 Free Agents
I thought that Polumbus played well late in the season and the Skins are high on Tom Compton, as well. Compton could compete for the starting job at RT in training camp. Based on the expected development of those two players, RT could be a stronger position next season.

Re: 2013 Free Agents
Our franchise QB needs to learn how to slide, that has nothing to do with the o-line IMO.

Also, it's worth pointing out he got injured outside of the pocket, both with his knee and with the concussion. |

Re: 2013 Free Agents
It seems to me that a lot of us either don't value Polumbus, or we underestimate him. He truly had a wonderful season. Re-signing him for another $700,000 contract would be more cap friendly than signing that guy from New England anyways.

Thats how he got injured this time, but he could get hurt in the pocket too. I agree with Mbender - we need to sure up the right side of the line. Coming off his second major knee injury, his protection should be priority one. Even if the oline can only help him when he isnt out in front of them so be it. When he is out in front of them -hell yeah he has to learn how to slide! Lol.

Re: 2013 Free Agents
Im still lobbying for Brandon Albert over all lineman that will be out there. Vollmer would be solid too. Not interested in Andre Smith personally hes being let go because of his play not a salay cut his contract wasn't big I guarantee it.
Also... Tell me Dwayne Bowe wouldn't be an awesome fit. He's really matured and developed into consistent borderline at times elite receiver. He'd do well here. Goodbye Morgan.

He wants the big pay day and, finally, those are not the players we are going after. I'll take Morgan and his consistent downfield blocking, thank you very much.

Thank you. The only thing Bowe is "consistent" at, is being inconsistent. No way would I drop big money on this guy. (even if I'm the Chiefs)

Re: 2013 Free Agents
If you notice the Seahawks and 49ers they give their QBs 5 good seconds in a great pocket. And if Wilson or Colin reads man they have the a whole field of green infront of them. They can basically pickup 10 yards each scramble with no one around them. Its their Oline that makes that possible. Sorry but Polumbus needs to be a backup not a starter. I seen dude just get lifted off the turf to many times for my liking.

Re: 2013 Free Agents
Redskins just signed Garcon to a bid deal, why would they sign another big name receiver who obviously would demand a lot of money.
As far as tackles go, a lot of these upcoming free agents will be franchised or resigned by their teams. They are all pretty much under 30 years old, which means if they are let go they will demand a 10+ million dollar per year contract. You can sign 3 or 4 essential role players for that much money. Plus this is one of the best years to draft a tackle if you need one. But it is the redskins and even during Shanahan's tenure you know they will make one big off season splash. |

Re: 2013 Free Agents
If they do make "one big splash", I hope it is for Byrd.
