gibbs said in some press conferences last year that when he hired GW he made sure they agreed the williams would be here for the long haul, so i think Gibbs is honestly concerned with long term health (unlike parcells who's going all out to win now)... gibbs picked what will hopefully be our next great coach for forever (dude is young for a coach), he's given GW everything he's wanted (full defensive control, 2 top ten picks on defense, and he even threw in a young talented rb and a quaterback of the future, just in case).
that, of course, would be the ideal situation at least. |

If a succession were to take place I would take a defensive guru, such as Williams, over an offensive guru. Notwithstanding the football cliché that "defense wins championships..." I believe his moxie for developing underrated defensive players would supercede a need to hire an offensive whiz. I mean thinking pragmatically, Joey G won't be around forever and to replace him with Williams would certainly be boon to the Skins viability down the road.
