Some of you guys are great sometimes. Honestly the D did fairly well at times today and gave the offense a chance to win. RG III could very well have won this game.
The defense now has three touchdowns this year. This team can win now if it would stay healthy. Why are guys now saying Garçon sucks when after the Saints game he was the next big thing? Fellas this team is very young and will be adding more youth next year. When Shanny said this deal would take five years well.. It's going to take five years. Adding youth and developing the talent. Doesn't happen overnight. I will say this one more time as it pertains to the Falcons they won against playing our fourth round rookie in crunch time. Till then we had the game under control. BTW Morris continues to impress the hell out of me, and Grant after he shakes off some rust will be a nice spell back for AM.

If you were watching the game you would have seen there was alot that would lead you to believe that we could very well have won if RGIII wasn't lost.

I mean, I think we should just blow up the team. Game over man. Time to start over.

To kind of bring things full circle on Mike's (umpteenth) FA mistake, I know some folks asked if anyone (probably me especially though) would still prefer Gaffney or some other average, veteran WR. I don't see how anyone would prefer otherwise. Gaffney or another WR would have commanded $1 million/year guaranteed money, at the most. We're paying Garcon $5 million + per year in guaranteed money. Is Garcon five times more valuable than an average, veteran WR? Will he be five times for valuable that the avg, bet WR in any year of his career? LOL, he's not even twice as valuable. He's maybe the 3rd best WR on the roster. Will he be targeted a lot yet this season? Sure. Will he have the most TDs of the WR corp? Probably, given how much the offense is willing to sacrifice to get him the ball already. Will that prove he's better than Moss, worthy of the contract, or deserves to start? (Right now my starters would be Moss and Hankerson, with Garcon and Morgan and Robinson battling to be the the "3rd option")

I know that hind sight is 20 20. But Id wager that alot of people on this site questioned the AMOUNT we gave garcon, especially with our holes, and the positions that went unfilled because of his huge signing, not the fact that we signed him. Noone questioned the upgrade. I think he is our best reciever, and I think he will be here a while and perform. But gaffney or some other WR, with proven hands and a decent route runner might have been a better option considering our cap situation, thats all. |
