Re: Kudos to RG III

RGIII seems to me such a clear choice for MVP at this point (realizing that there's a lot of the season left and anything can happen). Matt Ryan is having a great season, to be sure, but that team has a number of weapons (two great receivers, a very good running back), whereas RGIII is really single-handedly keeping us in games (and winning them). I don't see how there can be a credible case for anyone else -- at least, at this point in the season.

If RG3 wins the NFL MVP award as a rookie, that would be so excellent! But there's still 10 games left to go. Matt Ryan is having a great year too. But those people who vote on these things at season's end always look at other factors like team win/loss record and so forth. But RG3 should be considered for MVP if he keeps playing at the level that he's playing at.

Has a rookie qb ever won league mvp before? Rg3 is without a doubt league MVP right now. We'd be 0-6 without him. We were in all 5 games where he played the whole game solely because of him. No player is more valuable to his team right now than rg3 is to the skins.

No. He's not. Matt Ryan would be a MVP winner right now more than anybody. Also, this is the one thing that bothered me about getting RGIII. Fans will overlook anything and put them on a pedestal. RGIII needs to work on that 3rd down QB rating before he can touch a MVP trophy. He's got a long way to go, but he's done a great job so far.

I would add that there are WR drops that can be attributed to poor 3rd down conversion as well as poor blocking on runs.

RGIII is that great. Just wait until the rest of the team catches up.

I for one don't think he has earned a MVP award, though he should be considered, and as far as that third down rating I want you to look at how many third downs he is trying to convert beyond 3rd and 5. That is where we are having problems, is getting a dumb penalty or having a bad run and getting stuck with 3rd and 9 or 3rd and 15. We shoot our selves in foot more often than not at times, and asking a guy to convert something that long on a consistent basis can be difficult.

What's wrong with putting RG3 on a pedestal. RG3!!! RG3!!! RG3!!! MVP!!!! Matty Ice will tank. He started an interception parade on Sunday. he throws balls up for grabs at times. Julio and Roddy compensate for him a lot. He won't have MVP numbers at the end of the season. Matty Ice is a receiver-made my man.

Re: Kudos to RG III

I think we should just be grateful for the type of player RG3 is. He is not Michael Vick, people make comparisons between Vick and RG3 now, but RG3 is a totally different talent, IMO.

We finally have a legit franchise QB, something we have not had since I don't know when. I don't really remember ever going into a season since Snyder owned the team where we were "set" at QB. I think RG3 is the best QB we have had easily in the "Snyder Era". Brad Johnson should have been kept for a while, Mark Brunell was a reliable stopgap solution, but Jason Campbell was never the answer and I think they held on with him for too long.

HTTR is what i'm getting at. At least with RG3 we know we have a chance in the game. The defense isn't going to win us any games, so all we got going for us is that RG3 can make the kind of plays he did Sunday, to win the game.

This is gonna be an exciting season. I believe that RG3 will finish in the top 5 for QB's this year.
