That's going to be debated for some time but Obama did not call it an attack of terror. He actually tied it to the movie here in the speech. Only until latter did the word terror get used while talking about 9/11. Then in the following days they called it a mob attack so he can't have it both ways. He said it in this speech and then in the following days. THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. Every day, all across the world, American diplomats and civilians work tirelessly to advance the interests and values of our nation. Often, they are away from their families. Sometimes, they brave great danger. Yesterday, four of these extraordinary Americans were killed in an attack on our diplomatic post in Benghazi. Among those killed was our Ambassador, Chris Stevens, as well as Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith. We are still notifying the families of the others who were killed. And today, the American people stand united in holding the families of the four Americans in our thoughts and in our prayers. The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack. We're working with the government of Libya to secure our diplomats. I've also directed my administration to increase our security at diplomatic posts around the world. And make no mistake, we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people. Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. But there is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. None. The world must stand together to unequivocally reject these brutal acts. Already, many Libyans have joined us in doing so, and this attack will not break the bonds between the United States and Libya. Libyan security personnel fought back against the attackers alongside Americans. Libyans helped some of our diplomats find safety, and they carried Ambassador Stevens’s body to the hospital, where we tragically learned that he had died. It's especially tragic that Chris Stevens died in Benghazi because it is a city that he helped to save. At the height of the Libyan revolution, Chris led our diplomatic post in Benghazi. With characteristic skill, courage, and resolve, he built partnerships with Libyan revolutionaries, and helped them as they planned to build a new Libya. When the Qaddafi regime came to an end, Chris was there to serve as our ambassador to the new Libya, and he worked tirelessly to support this young democracy, and I think both Secretary Clinton and I relied deeply on his knowledge of the situation on the ground there. He was a role model to all who worked with him and to the young diplomats who aspire to walk in his footsteps. Along with his colleagues, Chris died in a country that is still striving to emerge from the recent experience of war. Today, the loss of these four Americans is fresh, but our memories of them linger on. I have no doubt that their legacy will live on through the work that they did far from our shores and in the hearts of those who love them back home. Of course, yesterday was already a painful day for our nation as we marked the solemn memory of the 9/11 attacks. We mourned with the families who were lost on that day. I visited the graves of troops who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan at the hallowed grounds of Arlington Cemetery, and had the opportunity to say thank you and visit some of our wounded warriors at Walter Reed. And then last night, we learned the news of this attack in Benghazi. As Americans, let us never, ever forget that our freedom is only sustained because there are people who are willing to fight for it, to stand up for it, and in some cases, lay down their lives for it. Our country is only as strong as the character of our people and the service of those both civilian and military who represent us around the globe. No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done. But we also know that the lives these Americans led stand in stark contrast to those of their attackers. These four Americans stood up for freedom and human dignity. They should give every American great pride in the country that they served, and the hope that our flag represents to people around the globe who also yearn to live in freedom and with dignity. We grieve with their families, but let us carry on their memory, and let us continue their work of seeking a stronger America and a better world for all of our children. Thank you. May God bless the memory of those we lost and may God bless the United States of America. END |

There is nothing to debate. It's there in the transcript in plain black and white. Just because you say he didn't say it, doesn't mean it's so. He said it, your party got owned on it, now eat your crow. For ****s sakes, stop trying to tell us the sky is purple when the clear evidence shows us otherwise. Again, NOTHING to debate. He called it a terrorist attack on Sept 12th. Also, his speech was on the 12th, NOT Sept 11th. He wouldn't be having a speech about 9/11 on the following day. The speech the following day was in regards to the attack the previous day. Keep making up shit though. It's crystal clear his speech is about the attack, not 9/11. Remarks by the President on the Deaths of U.S. Embassy Staff in Libya | The White House

Are you really that bad at reading comprehension? Can you not see where he transitions from talking about 9/11 the prior day to the events that happened the night prior? I'll underline the key part of this that transitions. Just because he mentioned the the prior day being 9/11 doesn't mean he was talking about 9/11 in regards to the part on terror. Continue on believing bullshit that is plain as day. Also, who gives a flying **** if he blamed it on the video or called it act of terror? Really? Does it ****ing matter? Hell no. It's just another GOP tactic to distract the uneducated and cult members from the real issues. (of them wanting to keep the rich large and in charge)

I know its probably been said and pointed out but both were somewhat right. Yes Obama did say "no act of terror", but that was just a blanket statement most likely as every thing now a days is terrorism if it is an act against America. The next day on national TV Bidden said it was a protest due to the movie posted on Youtube about Muslims. Now one would think the President and Vice President would have had their act straight, but they didn't. On top of that the spokes people for the White House ran with the whole "it was a protest" idea for about a week maybe longer before they actually came out and said it was a planned attack, terrorism on America. Personally I believed as Romney did that having the Embassy request extra security in advance due to a prior warning, and being refused the extra security, the President and Vice President should have known with hours or less of the incident whether it was an act of terror or not and let us know. I think instead the higher ups were afraid that the whole mess would come back to haunt them, that they knew about the threat, the request for extra security, and no one did anything. So they pretend to not have known and claim it was spontanious, atleast up until it was proven they were warned and a request was made and denied. If I was any of the 3 family members if who died I'd be filing a law suit against the Gov. for failing to protect them. |

Funny thing is the left was set on making everyone believe that Obama had called it a terrorist act they forgot it would also make their other statements a lie. |

I'll happily tell you now I voted for Obama simply because I personally feel that when one party is in office too long gov. grows statnant. Now that Obama has not changed much of the situation we are in and pretty much made it worse then to throw "ObamaCare" on top of it which will add 3 trillion to the deficit the first year alone not to mention what the cost will be to enforce the law is crazy. I've worked in the medical field for 14 yrs and completely dissagree with ObamaCare. Don't want it. Hate it. I'm voting for whoever is not Obama. I feel for those with out health insureance, I do. But if socialized medicine is what you want then please, please, please move to Canada. If you don't have it now one more year won't hurt you, and you might not have to wait that long to get it. Go enjoy it. I don't want it. This country was founded on freedom of the people. The Revolutionary War was to free us from tirrany (gov. telling us what we can and can't do). The Civil War was not just about slavery, it was about the states having the right to make their own decisions and not decisions forced upon them by the government. Federal Law was not to superseed State Law. It was meant to back up, or support the states. Instead we the people have allowed the Federal government to have all the control they want, make any rule or law they want, and force it upon the public and states. Everyone is forgetting that "WE" are in charge and the Representatives are supposed to be working for "US". Each and everyone of our States were and are supposed to have final say in regards to laws being passed and laws the public is supposed to adhere to. |
