I dont know about you but i know who i consider the main player in that uprising.

He hasn't earned his spot? He's lead some high powered offenses in this league. Anyone in the know doesn't question his knowledge of X's and O's.

If he's going to take bashing for what happened the last 2 years, fine. But it's only fair to give him credit for this year then. It's no surprise that the offense has greatly improved with RG3, talent always makes the scheme go.

Kyle has made me a believer this year. If he leaves next year, he will be missed. If we bring in somebody for OC, scheme needs to stay similar. Changing a bunch of sh*t up in just a second year would be a fail.

Heres the thing. It will be the fourth year. And if we finish comparable to our current record, a 4th straight season of being below .500.

Like I've said before, I root for our coaches. I think Mike has done well with AM and the Oline. But the real reason we are clicking on offense is because of RG3. I believe that RG3 is having some of his success in spite of the playcalling, making something out of nothing. Im sure some successes can be directly attributed to the brilliant mind that is Kyle Shanahan. If I had to take one or the other, Id wager that RG3 would be doing just fine without Kyle Shanahan, and that Kyle Shanahan would still be stinking it up without the all universe QB they now have to lean on.

Guess we'll know soon enough.

I doubt it. I think RG3's performance will "earn" the Shandem another year, possibly two if he just starts to go out of his mind ridiculous.

No one in their right mind would fire Kyle Shanahan this year.

Maybe the most insightful post of the thread...good work 544.

Um maybe some would be stubborn or stupid enough to say " hey were gonna make you a pure pocket passer and not really allow you to get outside the pocket and make plays Robert". Lol. How much credit do they deserve for letting RG-3 be RG-3? But ok Kyle gets a check mark for not making the wrong decision there.

doubtful... i think the offense will continue to get better, and some of his facepalm play calls should start to disappear and he may just earn his spot here for years to come working hand in hand with RG3

It's ridiculous to already discuss our offensive coordinator leaving after 7 games. Ntm our offense is a top 5 in the league smh.

One thing this team has is workers. I don't think any player takes plays off, and that is attributable to coaching. One thing I don't understand though, is it's not like Shanahan shouldn't know that he has always had weak defenses, so why can't he get that side of the ball right. Just very odd.

Are you talking about the INT where Paulsen and RG3 had a miscommunication? The play where 10 out of 10 times it would be Fred Davis on that play?

Yep. Kyle had called it 3 or 4 times earlier in the game and the defense was ready for it. Looked very clearly like the defender was sitting back and jumped the route for the INT. Another frustration is how easy Kyle makes it for the defense to jump routes because his formations/routes don't stretch the field.

And Davis was the target 4 out of 5 times. Not sure why the defense wouldn't have read the play regardless of who was targeted, except that if Davis was there for the 5th time you'd think EVERYBODY would expect it.
