^^ Brilliant observations. Your comments really add new insight into the discussion and provide a perspective not yet considered. Overall, a strong post.
See? I can do insulting sarcasm also.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
Is there anything else to discuss on this? We had the poll and the moronic sycophants overwhelmingly voiced their opinion.
We get it. MS hasn't won a playoff game in forever, the defense sucks and we're not improving. MS hasn't done anything right and all our limited success is attributable entirely to RGIII. You're points have been made, again ... and again ... and again. Respectfully, I, and others more insightful than myself, disagree. Mike came in saying it was a five year plan and he needed the entire five years. He inherited a old, talented team with no depth. The players he cut are, for the most part, not in football. The last two years we have built depth and, more significantly, changed the culture of Redskins park. Shanahan has not won but is setting the franchise up to win for the long term and, for the long term, it stunk beyond belief when he took over. He needs to start winning but he doesn't need the playoff this year. Further, this year, he has created/adapted an offense that emphasizes the strengths of RGIII allowing him to succeed in ways he would not have been able to if he had been thrown straight into a "traditional" drop back offense. I know you (Goat, GTripp, and Devie) will never agree that this warrants additional time, and, frankly - given your arrogance and complete disrespect for the intelligence of those who disagree with you, I don't care. Pat yourselves on the back and tell yourselves how brilliant you are - all seven of you. This thread is degeneratng redundtant rehashing of the same points. Perhaps it is time to shut it down.

The 'closer to actually winning' gets me every time.
If we make a big move in the coaching staff, then I might start to see the light at the end of tunnel.

I see a light with Griff. Thats for sure. I consider myself neutral really on the Shanny issue. I tend to come to the defense of the doubters simply because last time I checked wins and losses are what its all about. I can see the big picture and pick up on arguments from both sides. But the recent run with Shanny - going back 13 years with one playoff win really outweighs what he inherited in DC imo. If he had success elsewhere and just decided on a change of scenery or a new "project" and wanted a big paycheck from Snyder than I would completely be in the "he is on the rite track" train. But its hard to overlook how and why it ended for him in Denver.

As for a ban on someone - thats a tad bit over the top - that is why you have to leave this thread open. Funnell all your Opinions on Shanny here. If you are sick to death of it than simply ignore this particular thread. Seems more of a practical way of handling the whole situation imo. Edit: what you propose is basically if someone says "Shanny is awesome" they should be banned because that will spurn a "why" comment - and well you can imagine the rest. Lol. If someone were to come in yelling in every frickin post of his/hers how awesome KS is and how that play was drawn up for a 99 yard TD, if only Morris had cut left, or other ridiculous things than that would be as open to the in-season ban as someone who claims that 1 high turnover game out of 7 is the result of KS's stale playcalling, or citing for the 100th time in 101 posts that MS only won SB's with Elway. I also don't expect Matty or Smoot to really do something that draconian as an in-season ban, but when 7% of respondents believe something, and one or two of those 7% take it on themselves to put it out there in every post regardless of thread subject matter, then I think its fair for the other 93% to want the mods to keep the Warpath "Actively refreshing" not "tired and depressing" |
