Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

Haven't waded through all the pages, but anyone making an argument that Shanny is anything but a mediocre head coach, doesn't have the stats to back it up. Furthermore, outside of a handful of draft picks the team's talent level is very underwhelming. Outside of Kerrigan, who's been so so this season, and maybe Rak when he returns next season, there's not one single player this team can't live without.

I don't know if Shanny should be fired, but I'm very reluctant to say he's the coach of the future.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

Well....he's available as the Jags cut him. Soooo apparently he did not impress them either.
Jaguars sign LB Greg Jones, cut WR Anthony Armstrong - Big Cat Country

Guess we were rite about him sooner than. Its ok im not an "i told you so" guy. Cant speak for goat gtripp n mechanix on that one though.
Also i thought new poster httr 24-7 was not LL? Think they are two diff people. Could be wrong though. Thought i remember httr 24-7 referencing LL in one of his first posts the other nite. Or he was talking about himself in the third person which is fine too. Lol
Edit: not just concern by players, but brass too apparently.

We don't know anything yet. His time here isn't done.

The tweets I post on occasions is from LL (LavarLeap56 from Extremeskins). His user ID on here is HTTR24-7

Again, trying to put it on presentation is just dishonest.
The hatred for the shanny regime has definitely become more intense in my mind because of the "apologists". All of my posts about shanny started in a devils advocate way. The more i read opinions from both sides, the more i saw the "haters" side - which for me will always be first and foremost - wins and losses. All the other stuff - the presser the questionable personnel moves - haslett- discipline and the news from httr 24-7 have just cemented my initial skepticism into cold hard evidence for a change.

Yes, he was referring to Laron Landry in that particular instance. Not himself.

Plus, Goat there are plenty of other teams to go cheer for. Go pick one that makes you happy. Football is escape from reality; if the skins and this web site are causing huge amounts of frustration for you go somewhere else.

I heard Houston is having a good year.

I am sure more then a few people here would pitch in to get you a hat or jersey. Would you prefer a Watt one or Schaub?

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

Was just thinking, two of the last three Redskins head coaches came out of retirement to coach the Skins. The third guy is a journeyman QB coach on his third or fourth NFL team. (Chiefs)

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

I didn't particulary like Shanahan when we brought him here. It's pretty easy to check. But I was happy as hell Vinny was gone and we had a real GM. I was willing to give him a chance and changed my sig to reflect it. I've been excited at times. Especially about RG3. But now I think the flaws are coming out and the things I didn't like about Mike then are the same they are now. He's the same guy they got rid of in Denver. I think we are better off in some areas since he got here and would now like to see what a new offensive minded young HC and an experienced motivated (unlike Haslett) young DC could do. If we're sticking with the 3-4 than get an experienced 3-4 coach. I haven't researched guys but there is certainly some talent out there. I had no idea who Mike Smith was until he became coach of the Falcons. Mike's gonna be what he was...he lost his team his owner his defenses the last years sucked and we've all heard the micromanaging egomaniac stories. We have a GM and some young talent and probably the best QB or one of the best in the NFL. Thanks Mike for helping to clean house. Let's move on now.
