Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?
The Joe Gibbs comparisons are not fair, in my opinion. Joe Gibbs is a redskins legendary coach and of course they were going to let Joe Gibbs finish out his contract. I mean seriously who dare FIRE JOE GIBBS FROM THE REDSKINS. Not even Dan Snyder is that stupid.
Joe Gibbs had flat out bad teams 2 out of the 4 seasons he was here. He didn't finish with the greatest overall record, so some other teams, that would warrant them releasing him. I think a better question to ask, instead of "Should we fire mike Shanahan", would be "how bad does this year have to go for Mike Shanahan to get fired?" I will go out on a limb and say I believe that only 3 or 4 wins this year, he has a good chance to get fired. That's 3 seasons full of nothing but regression. Sure we have a franchise QB, and that should buy him time, but Griffin can't be expected to be the whole team, which he is at this point. I think unless the redskins finish strong and go out 7-9 or 8-8, Shanahan's job could be in jeapordy.
