This is tough. I live in Arlington and I gladly pay a bit more to reduce my commute. There are people that commute hours each way every day. It's unreal. I get that NoVA salaries are higher than most places in the country, but spending 4 hours of my life in traffic every day isn't worth the reward. My job got moved to Maryland about 2-3 years ago... I made it only a few months and a couple 3 hour commutes until I left.
