Re: Putting Things in Perspective
Ah, well, in that case. 19-0 this season and I'll consider the last decade or so forgiven.

Re: Putting Things in Perspective
With the way Brunell's contract is structured, it was only meant to be a 2-3 year deal anyway. His base salary jumps to $5.5M in 2006, still manageable, but in 07 it's $6.6M.
I think for mainly cap reasons he's a post June 1 cut next year. Unless he's starting by then they can't continue to pay a backup so much $$. |

Re: Putting Things in Perspective
Just to put things in perspective...
1. Skinsguy: Look back at the number of posts and my involvement at this site through last season, and then tell me how or why a "fair-weather fan" would spend any amount of time paying attention to or writing posts about a struggling team heading for a 6-10 record. According to the sentiments I've read, if one dares to criticize the performance of Redskin players after a 28-10 loss, that automatically means one is engaging in "hyper-analysis" or is a "fair weather fan". Interesting. 2. Matty: I do not, nor have I ever expected Patrick Ramsey to magically transform into Peyton Manning. Trust me guys, I wouldn't expect 49 touchdown passes from Patrick Ramsey over the course of 5 years, much less one season. I do however, count on a QB of Ramsey's apparent talent to move the ball rather effortlessly against Carolina Panther second teamers in the first preseason game. But hey, judging from what I've read here recently, I was asking WAY too much. 3. Canthetuna: Look man, no hard feelings OK? You and I want the same thing -- for our team, the Redskins, to kick ass and permanently leave the doldrums of mediocrity of which this team has spent the last 12 years. I guess I'm just a little more skeptical after, yes I know, one preseason game. And again, I'm not calling for Ramsey to be traded, cut, demoted or have him strung up by his testicles and caned. He deserves the rest of the preseason and at least 4 to 5 games into the regular season before he gets pulled. One thing you and I can both agree on, I think, is that we need to see some improvement tomorrow night against the Bengals. That's all. Peace, my brothers. |

Sorry to disappoint you, but I've always been more of the skeptical type. If it makes you feel any better, the next time the team loses by 18 points, I'll be sure to butter you up, comment on how lush the playing field looked, how the uniforms were crisp and clean, and how Ramsey's interceptions had such tight spirals so you can feel all warm and fuzzy inside. |

Re: Putting Things in Perspective
Hey, I am playing nice. I was nice enough to make him feel somewhat important by me replying to not only one, but three of his posts!
I just think it's funny when fans will jump at the chance to bash the team, when knowing the same fans will be cheering for the team when they start winning. What's that smell? Oh...that fair weather fairy dust again! LOL

What...that was circumstancial?? You mean circumstances surrounding a situation can alter the factual outcome of the situation?? Nooo. Really?? Oh, it was only a preseason game... I see. Maybe I shouldn't read that much into it after all.:frusty: BTW, Matty, I'm begging you to designate a sarcasm font. Italics are okay, but something patriotic would be nice. lol. |

I just think after the preseason, we might have a little better assessment on the regular season. Then again, Spurrier had a winning record in the preseason...so judging the team by what it does in the preseason isn't very accurate.
