Perry Riley has come into his own this year. Thought he'd be a good one and he has stepped up and played well. Montgomery has played better than I thought he could. Josh Morgan for his receiving but especially for his blocking. Knew he could catch...didn't expect such good effort from him blocking. Logan Paulsen. He's become a much more dependable receiver I think than anyone expected. Santana Moss. Came into camp lighter and faster. He's done great in the slot.

Cant believe nobody has mentioned Darrell Young. Dude has been clutch when he gets the ball and a true unsung hero doing all the dirty work for Almo.
.....and someone even called my man "soft" - forget who but you can find it on pages 199 and 213 I think of the Skins vs Bucs gameday thread.
Edit : Well nobody mentioned him between me typing and hitting save. Lol.

Cedric Griffin- Has been our most consistent CB all season.

Will Montgomery- Anchoring that middle with relative ease this season.

Darrel Young- Obviously

Stephen Bowen and Barry Cofield- Playing way better than last season.

Moss - He's taken an unjustifiably reduced role in stride and still proved to be the best pure receiver on the roster. Anyone else notice we don't score as many points in the games Moss isn't given at least a handful of opportunities.

Young - No frills, just great blocking and an awesome outlet for quick dives, misdirection or dump passes.

Trent - Mostly for playing through what sounds like an extremely painful injury

Fletcher - He's probably in more pain than anyone on the field, and still nearly elite.

Riley - Emerging as a top ILB

Bowen - IMO he's the only guy on the active roster who has any business starting as a 3-4 defensive lineman

Kai, PG and Trent.

I had my doubts on PG but he is one hell of a player. He plays with heart and just exudes effort on every play. The team is truly different with him on the field.

Trent has stepped his game up to "top tier" level. Every year since TW came into the league we kept hearing what he could develop into. In the NFL the "could be potential" rarely develops but I'm proud to say TW seems to have realized his potential and has a football mind now. It's not about what he can do outside of football but he considers himself a leader and doesn't let other players push any of his teammates around. He is the first to step in and let other teams know that BS isn't going to fly when he is around. Teammates respect that! I am really proud that he beat the odds and is establishing a new punishing attitude on the line.

Kai what else to say. The dude makes kicks and if he was here all year we could easily be 9-3 right now.

I gotta give the props to Kyle Shanahan and the wideouts.

Obviously adapting way better under this system, but the WR's are running beautiful routes and when given space- they make the best of it.


Aside from the Pittsburgh game, I'm enamored with the WR's production.

Trent- playing like an All Pro LT..Surprised me since coming out of college he was considered lazy at times....you know what...
...The Whole OLine has been playing great IMO.

Polumbus is the worst one on the line, and we need to upgrade that position come the offseason, but the fact of the matter is, we can win with this guy at RT if need be, because RG3 makes the line this much better.

Pierre Garcon -- I really hope he and RG3 become one of the great QB-WR tandems for the next few years.

Darrell Young -- Alfred Morris is great but having a Fullback who opens up holes for you has to help. Plus he is there for RG3 on all the pistor formation plays

Dan Snyder - for being the owner that stepped back, and let the FO make the decisions, but kept the checkbook open.

1. Pierre Garcon for playing with an injured toe. He has been playing some excellent football.

2. Kai Forbath for being perfect on FGs. I love his consistency.

3. London Fletcher for leading the team while injured and being the tackling machine that he is.

4. Chris Cooley for coming back and being an excellent teammate while dealing with his demotion with class.

5. Perry Riley for being great on defense. He's becoming one great ILB.

These are the guys I didnt expect who have stepped and been the difference in wins and losses.

Forbath has been a real nice surprise.

I think the Oline as a unit has been the most surprising. I really dont buy the arguement RG3 makes the unit "better", these guys have taken nice steps. Check the individual grades of Trent, Montgomery and Chester. These guys have graded out in the top half of the league all year.

Just about anybody on offense. Monty and Young strike me as the most suprising. KL is coming of major knee surgery and has gotten the job done. Paulsen has stepped up when we were in trouble at TE. All of our WRs are a huge part of our running game in a very unrecognized fashion.
