I think it will depend if Rex Ryan is there next year. If he is, the Jets might be foolish enough to make this trade. Ryan does not know how to evaluate talent or use draft picks, but only time will tell whether they make the trade.

Mike Tannenbaum is the JETS general manager. I'm not sure if they discuss this kind of deal or not, but Bruce Allen would be willing to listen. Since we have needs on the offensive line, Allen might not only command a 1st or 2nd round pick for Cousins, but he'll have Tannenbaum throw in D'brickashaw Ferguson and maybe a late round pick. Ferguson could be the answer at RT. Whatever the trade would involve, it has to make the Redskins better somewhere.

I do not think that the blame rests on Rex. If you consider the players that he has had to work with on the offensive side of the ball it could have been much worse. His defense has kept that team in contention until last night. If anything the GM should be in the hot seat. They got their best offensive weapon off of waivers from Seattle (Edwards). He wasn't even starting up there. The Jets problems are in personnel not coaching. Some blame can be pinned on the OC as well, but not Rex.

As far as them getting Cousins from us, I would rather not. You need a solid backup in today's NFL. Look at Chicago this year and Indy last year. Griffen has been hurt twice and I do not see the hits slowing down. Cousins is an insurance policy.

As far as the Jets are concerned I believe that they should make a play for Alex Smith. He is a mature QB who has finally come into his own and they could probably get him for less than someone like Cousins if he were to be released. Vick might also be available so the Jets will not have to look hard for a better QB. Both are solid with an effective running game would benefit the team if you can protect them.

It is Rex's fault. All of it. Tannenbaum was Rex's lackey - he got the players Rex wanted. Rex tied himself to Sanchez and will now desperately kick him to the curb. Further, Rex hand picked his OC - Sparano - specifically b/c he ran the wildcat in Miami. Rex sparked the trade for Tebow. Rex named the ever-inspiring S. Holmes captain last year.

Bottom line, there is plenty of blame to be shared but Buddy Ryan's boy is the head f*** up - everyone else is just catching the sh** spraying off the fan.

Rex simply sucks as a head coach in the long term and his downfall was as inevitable as the tide receeding before the dawn. He was good for one or two years of success but then his "us against the world" BS caught up to him and now he has no one to blame but himself.

Did Rex tie himself to Sanchez because that ws his man or was it because that Sanchez is the best QB that they had?

Rex may have picked Sporanno because of the success that he had with the wildcat and the running game. That is the style of offense that he wanted to play, but you still need a QB when the run isn't working.

I think that the trade for Tebow was more to spark Sanchez than anything else. Sure he might have been beneficial in the Wildcat or some dysfunctional version of it, but was Rex really the driving force behind it? The answer can only be a yes or a no. If it is a "yes", then it proves that Rex didn't have much confidence in Sanchez in the first place. If it is a "no" then it proves that it was out of Rex's hands.

Sure there is plenty of blame to go around when the team is losing, but he had a couple of good years and two respectable years with the team, but nothing was done to improve the players on the team. Player decisions are the responsibility of the GM. If he wanted to tell Rex no, he had every right to. Ultimately Tannenbaum made terrible personnel decisions regardless of what influence Rex had on them.

Rex took his team to the playoffs with his "us against the world" attitude and they bought it. That is proof that he can motivate and coach regardless of our feelings about him. He took over a team that was third in the AFC East and has consistelty placed them second every season behind the Patriots. Rex is two wins away from his 4th consecutive season above .500. If the team does lose out it will be his first and only losing season. I do not quite see how he sucks as bad as you would suggest.
