Re: RG3 talent is unprecedented in NFL history!

I wouldn't call RGIII's talent unprecedented. Incredible, yes. But Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newton (jerk) have elite skillsets that are kinda similar in their own ways. He's probably the best QB in a draft class that may turn out better than the 1983 QB draft class! Certainly if the pistol and read-option become long-time staples in the NFL, RGIII should be the first QB thought of when remembering when those features became popular in the pros.

You have to take into account RG3 is a rookie, and what RG3 has accomplished as a rookie.
And if this rookie talent (RG3) isnt unprecedented, what NFL rookie is? Or ever was?

I will go with what Shanahan has said since he witnessed first hand what "incredible" talent looks like compared to unprecedented talent as is RG3!

"Incredibly", take away his rookie status and his talent is still "Unprecedented"

It's kinda hard for me to think of Griffin's rookie season as "unprecedented" while remembering Cam Newton last season. And Luck this season. They have differences (Griffin vs. Newton: quick thinking vs. size, RG's better zip on his passes, etc.), but all the guys I mentioned have "unprecedented" talent IMO.

I think RG3's intelligence (and the Shanny's scheme and playcalling) plus his talent is behind his incredible efficiency and %'s. That might be unprecedented for a rookie.

I forget the exact order but I think my list of best rookie QB's before was as follows.

1. RG3
2. Dan Marino
3. Big Ben
4. Matt Ryan
5. Cam Newton

Now with Luck and Wilson playing as well as they have I don't know what to do, though I do feel confident bumping Newton off. And I think I can at least put Wilson above Ryan, the real question is should he go above Marino and Big Ben. Though I still say Luck should be below Ryan. F it I'll do it.

1. RG3
2. Wilson
3. Marino
4. Big Ben
5. Cam Newton
6. Matt Ryan
7. Andrew Luck

At the very least they're all in the top tier as far as rookie QB's are concerned.

Edit: Sorry Newton should be above Ryan at least. On second thought Newton could be as high as 2 or 3. Bottom line a lot of these are interchangeable though I still feel comfortable putting RG3 at number 1. The combination of yardage, efficiency, and team success is unparalleled.

I won't argue against any of your post. Couldn't come up with a better list myself. Just to nitpick your list though :cheeky-sm would Peyton fall anywhere in there? (as a rookie, trying to not think of his career overall)
