Have to agree here. Even with no intent if I walked into an elementary school right now with a gun I would most likely be arrested. If a person pulls a gun, there is intent to inflict harm with it, regardless of if its physical or mental harm.

I agree there as well. Regarding the accomplices who did not have guns or pull the trigger (such as the subject of this post), i feel the punishment should be a little lighter if they didnt know their friend was carrying a gun. If they knew he had a gun, then i agree with the harsher punishment. I imagine the later is the case here, since he received sucha long prison sentence.

I would agree if the wording were changed to 'If a person pulls a gun in the commission of a crime, there is intent to inflict harm with it, regardless of if its physical or mental harm'.

... and, if the crime is a felony (as in the Taylor burglary),it's considered felony murder which is treated as first degree murder and the legal equivalent of pre-meditated murder.

I agree. I just wanted to differentiate between a defensive use of a gun and one used as part of a crime.

On a personal (and very selfish) note, I will always feel cheated that we lost Sean so early in his career. This may cloud my judgment regarding the murderers.

I think that's how most people feel and its not selfish.
