So they couldn't tell if the ACL was totally torn because of 2 screws that are in his knee from the 2009 injury. The LCL is just partially torn and hoping that's the same with the ACL. Either way it looks like KC will be starting week 1. Hopefully griff can come back 100% from this. Just sucks to see such a great guy and player have this happen to him.

He said because the swelling of his prior injury against Baltimore is down, that surgery could be done tomorrow. Again hopefully that's not needed. And if it is its not the worst case of an ACL tear

No, not at all. Not seeing him play QB for the Redskins until summer 2014 would be worst case

So we'll find whether Kirk Cousins is the real deal. Assuming we don't get killed the first few games, could be a good thing...

How's that for a silver lining? And RG won the Heisman after the last ACL...

I can't imagine he won't have surgery--at least exploratory. That's my opinion, as a physician, though I am not an orthopedic surgeon.

They have to see what's going on with the ACL. Even a partial tear will require a reconstruction-likely from taking part of his hamstring tendon since he's already had one repair.

I've currently got an ACL tear that's partial/complete on MRI. Hard to tell. Basically have to go in and repair it according to my doc. Its a 9-12 month recovery.

Probably less for RG3 in terms of recovery given that he is young and an elite athlete. But given that this is his second time-I think Skins management should not rush him back.

Plan to start Cousins for the beginning of the next season. Assess Griffin as the season goes on. This is going to be a reverse Strasburg situation if you will...

So, disappointing to be dealing with the same situation at the beginning of next year that we had toward the end of this one.

Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...

Okay, time to try to make some lemonade -

We draft a QB in the 3rd or 4th round. RGIII is out in the early part of the season. KC has starter reps through OTA's, preseason and plays very well the first part of the season. At our bye week, RGIII is injury free and makes an AP like return, heroically leading the team all the way to the SB.

KC's play has teams drooling for him and the bidding starts at a first rounder plus something.

.... or, 2013 could just suck.

Imagine that happening and we end up with Clowney.

That would be unfair wouldnt it? Having probably the 2 best players in the NFL.

You mean St. Louis would end up with Clowney.

I’m rethinking this thread title now because I’m genuinely pissed off.
Between Griffins ego and Shanahans ineptness we are now looking at a way to salvage 2013 instead of planning the Super Bowl route.
The boy should have been benched at the half and Cousins should have finished the season win or lose.

You're thinking waayyy too much. Between Griffin and Shanahan we won the NFC East. Stop there, and be very, very careful with the "boy" reference...

I'm 30+ years his senior.
He's certainly a boy.
Lighten up Francis.

I can't wait for the report to come out just so we can stop this insane cliff-jumping every time someone touches their keyboard.

I think worst case is an infection where he loses his leg and dies.
Lmao good post
